Position Summary:

My client is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design and
develop code for an enterprise class n-tier financial system. The ideal
candidate will be well versed in .NET technologies and have a thorough
understanding of software engineering fundamentals, best practices,
patterns, technology choices, and n-tier designs. They run an agile shop and
have a team that values innovation, creativity, collaboration, and
white-boarding. They are leading edge driven, use the latest tools, and have
a strong team focused on getting great software out the door quickly.

Responsibilities:

* Design and code enhancements to business applications consistent
with established designs and business requirements

* Work effectively in small teams to ensure best practices and
engineering approaches

* Provide estimates on difficulty and sizing of enhancements, as
well as alternative solutions

* Participate in brainstorming sessions and effectively contribute
new ideas

* Understand and contribute to overall architecture vision and
provide guidance to other engineers

* Manage, prioritize and execute multiple concurrent software
development project activities

Required Skills and Competencies:

* BS in Computer Science or equivalent education with 5+ years of
experience developing software in a professional capacity or MS degree in

* Hands on experience in C# or other OOP languages (.NET preferred)

* Knowledge of databases and SQL (SQL Server, Oracle)

Position Responsibilities - Summary

The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is primarily responsible for
ensuring the availability and optimization of our production, development,
and QA databases. The DBA will assist in reviewing and deploying development
SQL code as well as keeping development and QA environments up to date.
Other duties include documentation, database application support and
troubleshooting, as well as development tasks focused on retrieving and
displaying production data for various internal groups.

Candidates must have strong database development experience as well as
database administration experience. The ability to review database code to
spot problematic areas, propose resolutions, and direct their implementation
is essential. A successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an
aptitude for learning new skills and environments quickly while
multi-tasking on more than one deliverable. As a member of the Database
Operations Team, the DBA will report to the manager of the Database
Operations group, and will provide technical expertise and guidance to the
team as well as internal development staff.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Ensure that databases are available to end users at all times.

* Review developer code for performance and scalability as well as
ensuring established coding standards are applied consistently.

* Ensure that database and query performance are optimized, and
automated database processes including replication, Data Transformation
Services (DTS) and SSIS are performing optimally.

* Provide architectural input and direction for the evolving
database environments.

* Implement enhancements and updates to ensure technology is
current.

* Respond to and remediate issues in all database environments as
they arise.

* Support Database service delivery to the business units 24X7,
including on call rotation.

* Maintain ongoing performance monitoring and error reporting
systems.

* Responsible for database disaster recovery of the entire database
environment which includes managing a timely SQL backup schedule to protect
the integrity of the information/data stored as well as off-site
replication.

Required Skills and Competencies:

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical
field is preferred

* 5+ years of closely related experience developing and
administering Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and later; Additional Microsoft
database related technologies such as SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS

* T-SQL programming, performance, and optimization

* Experience with backup/recovery tasks, user administration, and
SQL Server installation and configuration

* Database replication technologies, configuration and performance
in a virtualized environment

* Scripting experience (batch, VB script, PowerShell, etc.)

* Windows Server 2008/2012, Linux, Sybase ASE 15
