The Workshop: "Let's Improve YourElevator Pitch"

The workshop will start with information about theimportant elements of an effective elevator pitch.  Then it will offer general guidelinescovering content, tone of voice, body language, and facial expression; and itwill give examples.  During the secondhalf of the workshop, we will work together on the elevator pitches of audiencevolunteers.

About the speaker: 

AlexFreund, the "landing expert," supports job seekers into employment.  He is known for making people feelcomfortable when interviewing.  Alex is aneffective and successful career and interviewing coach.  He is prominent in several on- and off-linejob-search networking groups, conducts workshops on effective resumedevelopment and use of LinkedIn in the job-search process.  Alex has been teaching for several years acareer development seminar, and publishes a blog designed especially for jobseekers.  Prior to his current position,Alex managed several large departments in two Fortune 100 companies.  Alex maintains and publishes a free directoryof job-search networking groups via hisweb site at http://www.landingexpert.com

Alexis a Cornell University grad, lived on three continents and speaks fivelanguages. 

 About the Meeting:

Networking begins at 7:30 am,meeting starts promptly at 8:00 am.

Thereis a $10 fee at the door to cover the cost of the room.

 Meeting Format:

7:30 to8:00 – Registration & Open Networking

8:00 to8:15 - Welcome and housekeeping

8:15 to9:15 – Presentation by the guest speaker – Limited to 60 minutes

9:15 to10:15 - Elevator Pitch - 30 Seconds about yourself, who you are, what you arelooking for, target companies (3-4), how we can help you, how you can helpothers.  Follow the rule of the Three B'sof Public Speaking: Be informative; Be brief; Be seated.

10:15until  you choose to leave  -  Open Networking, follow up withpeople you are interested in meeting following their elevator pitch, exchangebusiness cards, peruse the library, arrange follow up meetings, etc.

 1- Make sure you come with the 30 second elevator pitch - honed - including yourtargeted companies, your value proposition, etc.

2 - Ifyou are not already a member of our linked in and Facebook groups please join

3 -Once linked to our groups - link to each other - a strong network is a vitalcomponent to a successful job search

4 - Ifyou are a member and new to transition send a brief message to the group (fromthe email you joined the breakfast club from) thebreakfastclubnj@yahoogroups.com  introducing yourself - and what companies you aretargeting - we have 2500+ members that will respond with help where they can
