Job Description:

Senior Design / User Experience professional for Client Technology Solutions New York working on projects across Investment Banking, reporting to the Regional lead of the CTS Design Group.
This design group is a central team delivering high quality design and business engineering across the CTS portfolio.
Client Technology Solutions (CTS) is a horizontal group that delivers relevant, distinctive, and innovative technology solutions externally to the Bank s clients, and internally to Front Office business users across Equities, Fixed Income and IBD.
This group enhances the business ability to capture opportunity and increase share of wallet via relevant technology.
The design group is focused on improving the overall client experience through design thinking and collaborative engagement with internal and external clients delivering technology across all channels, providing a seamless, thoughtful experience.

The principal responsibilities of this position are:

Lead the elicitation, analysis and design for strategic imitative across CTS.
Improve overall software quality and impact through thoughtful user-centered design.
Uncover requirements collaboratively that consider context, environment and goals of our users.
Be an advocate of the end user, generating assets that allow project stakeholders to clearly understand the motivations of different user types, relating to their tasks and specific requirements.
Model requirements using prototyping techniques allowing stakeholders to actively engage throughout the design process.
Partner with engineering and development to validate technical feasibility supporting iterative refinement through design and feasibility.
Work with Quality Assurance teams to define and prioritize testing focused on usability, factoring feedback and results back into the product or future releases.
As a User Centered Designer use analysis and design thinking to bridge business goals, user needs, and technology.
Be involved from inception to completion of projects and act as the 'vision owner' for any proposed solution, ensuring the end product represents the original goals, requirements and ambitions of the sponsors and stakeholders.
Coach and develop other team members - junior members of the team and existing Business Engineers that need to strengthen human factors and/or user-centre-design skills and techniques.
Produce final application design guidelines and style sheets that can be leveraged across other teams - actively engaging to establish a core set of stencils that reduce complexity, aid usability and design consistency - this will require collaboration with branding and marketing teams.
Work closely with Product team throughout CTS to deliver projects aligned to their organizations - these teams comprise of:
Client, Research and Analytics solutions to internal and external clients and targeted client management tools.
Delivery Channel Frameworks across all business areas that enable Client to engage its clients through electronic channels, and support internal front office users.
Business Intelligence/MIS Reporting/information across IB via multiple channels including Client Dashboard(s), standardized reports, power user tools & predictive analytics solutions.
Client and Product reference data delivery front to back across the Investment Bank, meeting regulatory requirements and utilizing industry utilities as they become available.
Degree level qualification in design, HCI, Human Factors, engineering or related discipline.

Evidence of leading design on mid to large-scale projects.
Business and Functional expertise: must have a thorough understanding of user centered design process and techniques for different projects.
Solutions and Implementation: must be able to analyze and provide innovative solutions or identify opportunities for new business benefits.
People Leadership: must be able to provide leadership to business analysts, project managers, development teams, the business and other teams across CTS and other partners.
Strong Negotiation, Conflict Resolution, Influencing, Facilitation and Communication Skills.
Strong Modeling skills - Information Architecture, Human Factors Integration, Requirements Prototyping and Solution Design Competencies.
Outstanding collaboration skills to work with business stakeholders and IT to deliver projects.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent presentation and communication skills and the ability to confidently address IT and management audiences and demonstrate the value of user-centered design.
Able to work with and motivate highly creative and highly analytical people.
Effective inter-personal, conflict management and people management skills.
Well organized with the ability to multi-task several initiatives in parallel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to articulate concepts effectively to business and technology staff at all levels; able to influence senior managers.



Desirable:
Knowledge of Investment Banking, Private Banking and Wealth Management.
Experience in data visualization and visual language design and branding.
Thorough understanding of design issues for web-based interfaces (Java, XML, XSLT, HTML, CSS and JavaScript).
Broad understanding of Investment Banking Products
Experience of industry standard paint package, (i.e. Photoshop).
Experience of industry standard HTML authoring system, (i.e. Dreamweaver).
Understand industry trends and practices in the client s businesses and in areas of domain expertise.
