The Learning Technologies Group team is seeking a Software Developer for the team located in the Piscataway, NJ office. Th Developer will be responsible for performing moderately complex areas of product design activities including design, systems analysis, implementation, and maintenance of components of a large-scale, mission-critical Web application. He/she should be able to demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
' .NET framework, C#, Visual Studio, IIS, SQL Server.,
' Web application design and architecture
' Software Engineering Lifecycle processes and tools

Additional Essential Duties or Responsibilities will include:
' Performs moderately complex product design, systems analysis and programming activities which may require some research;
' Designs, implements, and maintains software in a team environment using Visual Studio 2008 and Team Foundation Server
' Actively participates in product design meetings;
' Develops effective and reliable code using C#, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Web technologies (including AJAX), Inversion of Control frameworks,
' Prepares technical reference documentation for use in the production cycle, document changes, and for customer support;
' Conducts unit testing (including mocking) and integration testing on software for functionality and limits;
' Analyzes old and current code for problem resolution;
' Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
' Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent expertise
' 2-3 years experience developing high availability web based .NET applications
' Experience working on a large codebase (on the order of 100,000 lines of code or more)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
' Demonstrated programming skill, including design, code review, implementation, testing, and debugging
' Understanding of multi-tier high-throughput web application architecture
' Working knowledge of a significant subset of standard web application technologies, such as web services, HTTP, XML, XSLT, XML Schema, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, XHTML, SQL,
' Familiarity with software development lifecycle processes
' Smart, dedicated team player
' Ability to work with stakeholders in deriving and validating requirements

PREFERRED SKILLS
' Science, Engineering, and/or Math background
' Educational / Teaching background
