My name is Lisa West and I am a recruiter with the Adecco - Morgan Stanley Team. Morgan Stanley is one of the world's largest and most respected financial service companies, with a long-standing reputation for excellence on a global scale.

We are currently seeking a Linux System Engineer - Enterprise Business Intelligence at our New York City location.

The ideal Linux System Engineer - Enterprise Business Intelligence should have:

  • Minimum 5-8 years of professional IT experience (preferably working within an information technology organization in a systems-engineer/product-engineer/integration-engineer position
  • Strong Linux/UNIX (preferably Red Hat) experience both in working with the operating system and in the installation of enterprise software packages.
  • Current ETL (preferably Informatica) experience (preferably in a system administration, product installation and architecting capacity)
  • Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Comfortable working with Windows desktop and standard Microsoft Office applications

Skills Desired:

  • Perl scripting
  • Korn shell scripting
  • Sybase (or other relational DBMS)
  • Revision Control System (RCS) or Perforce
  • AutoSys job scheduling software
  • NetCool alerting and monitoring
  • Past experience working with a range of Data Integration/Business Intelligence products, preferably involved in installation and operational management (especially Business Objects; Crystal Reports; Proclarity)
  • Exposure to 64-bit hardware architecture
  • Exposure to 64-bit operating systems
  • Exposure to grid computing architecture
  • Understanding of webserver architecture; operation and administration
