Morgan Stanley is one of the world's largest and most respected financial service companies, with a long-standing reputation for excellence on a global scale. We are currently seeking a Linux System Engineer - Enterprise Business Intelligence at our New York City location. The ideal Linux System Engineer - Enterprise Business Intelligence should have: - Minimum 5-8 years of professional IT experience (preferably working within an information technology organization in a systems-engineer/product-engineer/integration-engineer position
- Strong Linux/UNIX (preferably Red Hat) experience both in working with the operating system and in the installation of enterprise software packages.
- Current ETL (preferably Informatica) experience (preferably in a system administration, product installation and architecting capacity)
- Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask
- Must be able to work independently
- Comfortable working with Windows desktop and standard Microsoft Office applications
Skills Desired: - Perl scripting
- Korn shell scripting
- Sybase (or other relational DBMS)
- Revision Control System (RCS) or Perforce
- AutoSys job scheduling software
- NetCool alerting and monitoring
- Past experience working with a range of Data Integration/Business Intelligence products, preferably involved in installation and operational management (especially Business Objects; Crystal Reports; Proclarity)
- Exposure to 64-bit hardware architecture
- Exposure to 64-bit operating systems
- Exposure to grid computing architecture
- Understanding of webserver architecture; operation and administration
