A major NYC financial services firm is seeking a Developer/Applic at ion Support Specialist (VB.NET, ASP.NET, with either SQL SERVER or ORACLE)

Position:

 

Enhance existing programs to support specific customer needs, system upgrades and applic at ion development initi at ives; 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Enhance existing programs to support specific customer needs, system upgrades and applic at ion development initi at ives: Communic at e directly with customers, and other programmers on the team as well as outside system vendors; Manage the movement of coding changes and releases through the testing regions, run Unit Testing and Model Office cycles and install changes into production; Code programs and queries to s at isfy audits and various customer requests for quick turnaround of inform at ion; Act as mentor and trainer during transition to web based applic at ions.

 

Requirements:

 

2 years experience developing programs in a Client/Server environment utilizing stored procedures.

2 years experience developing in VB.NET and ASP.NET with either SQL SERVER or ORACLE

Preferreds (nice to have): Crystal and Microfocus Cobol, XML, PVCS; Business Objects,VB6

Willing to provide on-call support during off hours.

Excellent communic at ion skills
