PSEG Director Information Technology Strategy & Architecture

• This position is a direct report to the Vice President IT & Chief Information Officer and a member of the Information Technology Senior Leadership Team. Provides PSEG business units with the technology vision and leadership to assure the timely, innovative and cost-effective use of technology in order to achieve the firm's desired outcomes, improve business productivity and enable business growth. At least fifteen years experience in the technology field, with solid experience in a senior management role leading a staff at least of ten senior technologists

Expectations:
Develop a strategic technology direction, long-term IT investment strategy, and a business applications/technology architecture aligned with business objectives and strategy to propel the company forward. Establish strong credibility and rapport, and develop relationships with the internal lines of business to promote trust and confidence in the technology leadership team.

Establish value-enabling architecture management processes (including architecture governance, architecture community, architecture principles, architecture fit assessment, target architecture) required to meet business objectives.

Coordinate technology strategic planning, actively seeking ways to leverage the integration of business processes with applicable emerging technologies in order to improve and streamline operations and services in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• At least fifteen years experience in the technology field, with solid experience in a senior management role leading a staff at least of ten senior technologists
• At least five years of experience in project management of major development projects
• Significant experience and knowledge in implementing computing architectures and networked computing structures as an employee of a large corporation
• Short- and long-term strategic planning expertise that produced innovative technology solutions for implementation across multiple disciplines
• Creative, strategic thinker/problem solver; ability to exercise independent judgment and creative problem-solving techniques in a highly complex environment using leading-edge technology and/or integrating diverse user systems
• Excellent oral and written communications skills with technical and non-technical clients; demonstrated ability to present and discuss complex technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and approval
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, and marketing skills to work with users, senior management, and external personnel on significant matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines
• Strong relationship building and relationship management skills, along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with diverse personalities across the organization on a variety of cross-functional projects
• Exceptional project management skills, effectively arranging resources and managing multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment

Desired characteristics:

• Graduate degree in Business or Management
• Knowledge of the Energy industry
• In depth experience with SAP, Trading systems. Risk management, and large enterprise systems
