Location: Trumbull, CT

Duration: 2months contract to hire (will consider a direct hire for the
right candidate)

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Professional to provide internal and
remote network support. Responsibilities include efficiently installing,
configuring and maintaining and administering the company's network and PC
operating systems, including hardware and software for servers, desktop and
laptop computers, peripherals, and network devices. This position will be
responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving problems associated
with server hardware and software. In addition, the individual will perform
daily operational support and network monitoring tasks, create and maintain
a disaster recovery plan, recommend upgrades, patches, and new applications
and equipment as required.

Required Skills and experience:

. Ability to move / install servers, computers, printers and
monitors, and related equipment.

. Travel as needed for retail store installations 5-6 times per year

. 3-5 years of experience performing network assignments of
increasing complexity.

. Experience with most of the following products and environments:

. VMWare ESX/ESXi V4.0

. MS Windows Server 2003 and 2008; MS Exchange 2007 / 2010; MS
Sharepoint 2007 /2010; MS SQL 2000 / 2005 / 2008; MS Hyper-V; MS System
Center Configuration Manager; MS System Center Virtual Manager

. SAP ECC 6.0

. POS - Retail Pro

. EMC Celerra SAN

. Cisco Voice Routers, Layer 3 Switches and wireless; Cisco VPN

Rate: up to $40/hr. C2C or $35/hr. W-2

Summary:

Our client is seeking a mid-level Query/Report/Analyst to assist the
operations unit in writing production queries and constructing reports
against relational databases using SQL, Excel, and Business Object tools.
The position is within the operations unit of a market research firm that is
responsible for the accuracy and currency of the firm's company/ contact
master files (Oracle 10g relational database), and for pulling lists that
meet criteria for research studies. The contractor will assist in-house
query writers/analysts in extracting data from the firm's master file of
companies and contacts to meet the needs of studies, and help the unit
prepare for a transition to a Business Objects reporting platform.

Required Skills and Experience:

. Experience in constructing SQL queries against Oracle 10g
databases and MS SQL Server

. Experience in procedural SQL

. SQL Navigator skills

. Unix skills, specifically editing files using vi, executing .awk,
and writing shell scripts

. Knowledge of relational database design as it relates to
extraction of business data for business decisions

. Experience with CRM data structures and CRM business data a plus

. Strong knowledge of Excel, especially in features that can be used
for list comparison and analysis (e.g., vlookup(), if(), text manipulation
formulas, pivot tables, macros)

. Knowledge of Business Objects reporting and universe design

Summary: Query/Report/Analyst within an operations unit, writing queries

We are looking for a technical contractor position through December to
assist our unit in production queries, analysis, and reporting.

Tasks include:

* isolate and extract companies and contacts that meet specific study
criteria (geographic, demographic, etc.);

* create/execute control checks against data fields to find issues in
quality;

* pull descriptive information related to study lists to enable review
and decision;

* match and compare externally provided lists against the master file
to facilitate processing;

* identify where ad-hoc analyses and queries can be standardized and
repeated

* develop methods (e.g., Business Objects reports, BO universes, excel
macros, shell scripts) for non-technical users to execute some of the above

The successful candidate will have the following technical skills

* Experience in constructing SQL queries against Oracle databases
(Oracle 10g)

* Experience in constructing SQL queries in Microsoft SQL Server

* Experience in procedural SQL

* SQL Navigator skills

* Unix skills, specifically editing files using vi, executing .awk,
and writing shell scripts
