DESCRIPTION
Critical member of the Enterprise Project Management Office. The EPMO centers around maintaining and maturing project management standards, guiding the project portfolio, empowering project teams, and cultivating project management best practices across the STS organization.

The application manager's role is to take responsibility for a specific application (or suite of applications) from a holistic perspective – e.g., through different projects, across requirements from different business units. They ensure best practices, proper process and procedure, and appropriate staffing and management of the application, the team, and the related projects.

This role is to lead a dedicated team of 2 offshore developers. The position will manage all lights on support requests and minor enhancement project needs of the business partners. The position requires coordination and planning and communication of scheduled releases, production support problem resolution and project status. He/she will be involved in business case analysis, budget development, audits, and systems risk mitigation. The position requires technical knowledge and software application development and production support management experience.

Overall responsibilities include:

•Provide management oversight for ODC Team working on EPMO tools projects and processes
•Serve as point person for TeamTrack and TimeTrack applications
•Establish direction, plans and toolset analysis across all areas of EPMO, ensuring that recommended solutions are policy-compliant and deliver the greatest ROI and level of protection for the organization
•Manage all ongoing audit items which require involvement from the Information Security team – ensure that progress is tracked, issues are discovered, socialized and resolved and that all items are closed out in accordance with committed dates
•Partner with senior application development and infrastructure managers to ensure that awareness of and input into ongoing EPMO efforts
•Oversee EPMO Tool and processes, identify trends, issues and opportunities for enhanced performance, modifying practices and procedures accordingly
•Facilitate various EPMO Processes
•Continue to look for organizational synergies and more effective ways in which to deliver higher quality service at lower costs
•Manage and deliver large, complex engagements that identify, design, and implement technology solutions within their application (suite).
•Support the project manager and particularly ensure proper initiating, planning and requirements documents are prepared according to standards, including funding and approval.
•Managing the planning, design, development and implementation of projects for the application.
•Manage engagement risk, project economics including planning and budgeting.
•Develops and maintains contact with top decision makers.
•Supervising application design and architecture components.
•Supervising process and functional design activities
•Supervising application build, test, and deploy activities
•Change management.
REQUIRED SKILLS
•Ability to manage, motivate and develop high performing teams in a collaborative environment
•Strong verbal/written communications skills and problem solving abilities
•Ability to articulate ideas to all levels of management, and to technical staff
•Applied knowledge of project management principles and practices
•Ability to be a team player, and apply logical temperament, organizational skills and sound leadership
•Relevant software skills, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite – deep knowledge of MS Project.
•Development management experience in Serena TeamTrack product(s)
•Self-motivated individual who maintains a high bar for her/himself and others
•Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
•Excellent communications and inter-personal skills
•Strong customer service orientation and excellent written and oral communication skills
•A proven resource in defining systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment
•Ability and willingness to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

Education & Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field; or equivalent work experience.
•Candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of solid project management experience in a corporate environment.
•PMP Required. Experience in or exposure to a PMO is a plus.
•Experience with internal and/or external auditors is a plus.
•Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of software solution
