My Client is looking for a seasoned and dynamic VP of Operations to join our growing team. Over the past 12 months, the Operations teams have transitioned the department from a start-up mindset to that necessitated by being a much larger organization. The VP Operations will now lead them through the next stage which comprises:

Building out the infrastructure to cost-effectively cater for year on year volume growths in excess of 30%
Supporting a client base that will want to fully utilize the new application and database features that the new architecture enables
Maximizing use of a global pool of resources to optimally service a global client base and a global infrastructure 24x7
Developing strong working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders within a global matrix organization
Embedding a culture of operational excellence combined with a focus on innovative solutions to both short term business requirements and long term strategy

The VP would, therefore, have demonstrable experience in successfully leading a global technology team through the change described above, and beyond. He or she will be able to provide concrete evidence of the approach undertaken and articulate the issues involved, describe the manner in which they executed on their strategy, stakeholder management and how they overcame obstacles to their path.

The VP will work with Client Services, Development, Product Management, overseas regional offices and champion and communicate the operational change strategy for My Client . Furthermore they will be required to represent their strategy externally and internally, to partners, customers and senior managers.

They will ensure a strong centre of operational expertise continues to be in place to support the business and its customers. This will require solid experience in leading and motivating teams of technical and client-facing staff in potentially challenging situations. Evidence of successfully implementing structured approaches to staff development, succession planning, performance management and staff appraisals is essential.

The continuous improvement of the company's operational efficiency is a core component of My Client 's strategy. The VP of Operations plays a significant role in this and will be expected to demonstrate evidence of budget management, efficiency gains and P&L improvement.

The VP of Operations' performance will be measured using criteria such as delivery against Operations business plan, expenditure against budget, efficiency improvements and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:

Set and lead the strategy for the Operations department
Manage the day-to-day operations of the department
Develop annual business plans identifying key activities and priorities
Implement and communicate operational strategies and solutions in line with the My Client's business plan
Set and Manage performance targets
Ensure staffing levels are met and managed
Ensure professional management standards are adhered to
Set and monitor Operational budgets
Ensure the Operations business continuity and recovery requirements are met
Oversee the supervision of the Operations department, including work allocation, training, and problem resolution; evaluate performance and make recommendations for personnel actions; motivate employees to achieve peak productivity and performance
Be a coach/mentor to team members
Ensure projects and departmental tasks deliver real benefits to the business
Skills Required:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field of study required, MBA preferred.
