Anyone who is or has ever been unemployed, or under-employed, knows how
stressful the job search process is. That stress not only impacts the
individuals but also impacts friends and family. Kenny Moore, a renowned
speaker, author, business leader and former Catholic Monk, is a recognized
expert on the art and science of finding a job in a changing economy. He is
both informative and entertaining and helps put things in perspective. Some
may know him as KENNY THE MONK.

We have been fortunate enough to get Kenny to come to our next meeting
(Monday, August 22 at 7:00 PM) in the All Purpose Room. His words and

I'm doing a search for a client, a global vendor of front and back office solutions for financial services that is trying to hire someone to run their professional services practice in The Americas. 

This is a summary of what they are looking for. 

• Manage and run the professional services organization (PSO). To work with the delivery manager to develop and deliver best practice throughout the regional PSO and with the key stakeholder groups. 
• Manage resource scheduling and all projects as well as the regional PMO 
• P&L management responsibility for the region 
• Attract, recruit, develop and retain high calibre staff 
• Manage a team of 20+ Consultants 
• Manage regional budgeting, forecasting and billing process. 
• Monitor the status, success criteria and control of each engagement on a regular basis with particular reference to quality and profitability and risk/issue management and escalation. 

Skills required: 
• Proven management experience within a software vendor environment 
• Proven commercial experience of running a P&L 
• Excellent level of presentation skills that displays both confidence and professionalism to stakeholders and clients

The position is for an experiencedâ€"10 years minimum-- DB2 for z/OS DB2 DBA professional who has worked with DB2 V9 new function mode in a parallel sysplex with DB2 data sharing.
Responsibilities
o In addition to the usual DBA skills such as object design and creation; back-up and recovery; and bufferpool tuning; the candidate should be very familiar with BMC database tools and utilities, physical data modeling, and SQL optimization and performance.
o The candidate will work with internal and external customers to analyze and determines information needs and elements; data relationships and attributes; data flow and storage requirements; and data output and reporting capabilities.
o The candidate should also be well versed with tools such as TMON monitors, SPUFI, QMF, TSO, MS Windows, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
o Develop and implement creative solutions to integrate our technology into infrastructures.
o The candidate should expect to be in the DBA on call rotation, meaning he or she will need to be available 24 * 7 for a one week period every eight to 10 weeks.
o The candidate will also be expected to provide on site off-hours support for release implementation and various DBA activities such as partitioning tables.
o The DBA work is conducted on site in , NJ, so the candidate will need to be in for all work activities, whether normal business day or off-hours.
Qualifications
o Minimum 10 years DB2 for z/OS DBA experience.
o BS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
o 5 years DB2 data sharing experience
o 5 years database and application performance tuning using tools such as Strobe, Explain, TMON, and DB2 Performance Monitor.
o Database tools and utilities such as the BMC suite.
o Stored Procedures (COBOL and NATIVE), Triggers and UDFs.
