AVP Vendor Mgmt:

Create a consistent vendor management strategy for the A&H division. Responsible for understanding the magnitude of vendor support being provided to the organization at large and determine how to make that support more efficient.
Align A&H with all corporate GS&PS mandates while providing vendor management assistance or by identifying in-sourcing opportunities. Also, remediate all existing issues and drive toward clean BAU practice.
Liaise with HO Underwriting to manage all existing relationships and ensure that the business and operations are aligned on service delivery strategy.
Coordinate with GS&PS to automate processes and develop electronic repository for all vendor information.
Focused on ensuring that policies and procedures for Vendor selection and management are adhered to.
Partner with business to select strategic partners
Manage lifecycle from due diligence to contract negotiation to termination.

 

Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Highly effective interpersonal and technical skills necessary to obtain continued support from internal clients.
5+ years experience with Strategic Sourcing or Vendor Management.
4 year college degree or equivalent experience.
A demonstrated sense of urgency in order to effectively meet deadlines.
Flexibility and the ability to interact effectively with peers, subordinates and superiors.
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal customers / clients as well as vendors
Ability to work under pressure while dealing with changing priorities and timeline.
Experienced in conducting unsupervised meetings with stakeholders.

PM Strategic Initiatives

Lead current transformational projects including centralization of underwriting support.
Additional 2012 objectives include review of the Canada  operations and Premium Administration functions.
Leads in managing project integration, scope, time, costs and quality and communicates the status, risk and issues associated with each to the correct level(s) within the project structure and the organization to ensure that the project outcomes are achieved as defined, within budget and on time.
Leads cross functional and consultant team members assigned during the duration of a project to ensure timely completion of project deliverables.
Provides leadership, coaching, and guidance on a continuous basis to project team members in the areas of project lifecycle, operating procedures, processes and practices.
Creates risk management plan to identify, analyze, monitor and respond to risks associated with the project to ensure ability to achieve expected outcomes, on time and on budget.
Work with team to create solutions for issues identified during project.
Leads activities required to complete project documents: project plan, project charter, scope, and project schedules.
Develops project cost estimates and budgets for assigned projects and initiates cost control measures to ensure projects budgets are met.
Communicates project status to team, business owners and executive leadership as appropriate throughout the duration of the assignment and post implementation to make certain all impacted stakeholders have an understanding of risks, issues and activities related to the project.
Partner with segment managers, product development, underwriting and sales to identify innovative solutions for service and delivery.
Partner with Vendor Management and Execution teams to help plan and deliver on identified opportunities to in-source functions.
Support all other organization wide initiatives that will help deliver efficiency, quality, and cost savings.
Reports directly to VP of Operations Excellence.

 

Bachelors Degree
Two or more years project management experience required.
Three or more years of functional/operational experience required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent time management and organization skills
Previous experience using various BPR- Business Process Reengineering, TQM- Total Quality Management or Six Sigma tools and methodologies is advantageous
Strong knowledge of the insurance industry and competitive landscape
Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively communicate to various levels in the organization.
Creates an environment that motivates, inspires and respects others.
Ability to self start, work independently and be versatile in a dynamic environment.
Highly skilled at relationship building within project and across the organization.
