Description:
The Sickle Cell Foundation of Palm Beach County is a private, not-for-profit organization that administers public funds, private grants and donations for education and services to persons with Sickle Cell Disease/Trait and their families in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties.

Our Mission: "To improve the quality of life for persons with Sickle Cell Disease/Trait and members of their family, and educate the public about this devastating hereditary blood disorder. Targeted communities are educated on preventing Black babies from dying."

Our Vision: "To be the preeminent provider of education and supportive services for persons with Sickle Cell Disease/Trait and members of their families; and, an esteemed resource for offering professional development seminars about Sickle Cell Disease/Trait for educators, health and human services providers, employers and the general public."

Our service area is home to more than 30,000 persons who are affected by the Sickle gene. Our headquarters are in West Palm Beach and we also have an office in the Treasure Coast, as well as satellite offices in Belle Glade, Delray Beach and Riviera Beach.

We currently have an amazing opportunity for a Chief Executive Officer!

This position provides administrative, managerial, strategic planning and professional support by supervising, assessing, and screening and training all staff personnel; preparing, reviewing, monitoring and maintaining appropriate financial and status reports; ensuring the agency and its staff are in compliance with funding requirements; general day-to-day operations of the agency, and ensuring clients and staff are treated with professional courtesy. This position reports to the Board of Directors and, in accordance with FLSA standards, is EXEMPT.
Duties:
1. Responsible for providing day-to-day guidance for operating the agency;
2. Responsible for ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements as relevant;
3. Responsible for the proper administration and implementation of contract/grant-funded activities;
4. Responsible for maintaining existing financial sponsors/funders and developing new sources of funding;
5. Responsible for the collection, compilation and completion of periodic reports for the Board of Directors and Agency Grantors (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually);
6. Responsible for developing and recommending new programs and improvements in the operation of the agency and delivery of services;
7. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of clients, client files and agency records;
8. Responsible for developing and implementing on-going training and "in-service" training programs for staff;
9. Responsible for managing/monitoring Client Support Group Meetings;
10. Responsible for supporting agency events (health fairs, meetings, fund raisers);
11. Responsible for attending conferences and meetings as required and approved;
12. Responsible for performing other duties as requested.

Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for this position are:

Grant writing is expected of the CEO. Knowledge of how to write grants and a track record for writing successful grants is REQUIRED.

• BA/BS or equivalent four(4) year degree in business administration, human services, mental health, nursing, psychology, social work or related field.
• At least five (5) years supervisory experience of which three (3) years must have been at a management level.
• Incumbent must have strong oral and written communication skills; strong analysis, planning, management, organizing and decision-making skills.
• This position requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure without negatively impacting job performance.
• Incumbent must have the flexibility to work outside regular office hours to meet goals and objectives of the agency and the demands of the position.
• Incumbent must have the ability to manage and motivate staff.
• Reliable transportation, proof of valid automobile insurance, and a valid Florida Driver License are required.
