Position Description:
Seeking a Senior Developer with technical and business analysis experience with a focus on database design and development. The right candidate will initially assume on-going support for a very critical application for the firm that provides the platform for grading and reviewing Company deals. Candidate will be the primary support contact for this application and will also lead the technology effort for the second phase of implementation planned to span the next few months. The candidate will lead from a process and coordination perspective the efforts of support technology teams as well as establish effective and auditable processes for handling production and enhancement requests from business users. The candidate needs to be professionally mature and self-directed, must possess excellent time management and interpersonal skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and the ability to communicate and work equally well
with system and business users / executives is essential.
Minimum Required Skills and Experience:
At least 3+ years of IT experience (2+ years experience in data warehouse/business Intelligence development) in the Financial Industry is required
A strong working knowledge of database management tools, data warehouse concepts and applications and specific database platforms including Oracle and SQL Server.
Knowledge of LINUX and Windows administration capabilities is required.
Experience in dealing with development and support environments
Experience with TomCat hosted applications
Good Understanding of Data warehouse concepts
Relevant software skills, particularly the Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project and Visio.
Experience with application development platforms and technologies (.NET, C#, VB, Business Objects is a plus)
Experience with large third-party compliance and credit applications is a plus.
Ability to articulate ideas to all levels of management, and to technical staff. Candidate must be comfortable communicating with very senior levels of management in the organization.
Ability to be a team player, and apply logical temperament, organizational skills and sound leadership
Strong verbal/written communications skills and problem solving abilities
BS degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent IT related experience in financial services.
