below are this week's Upcoming Networking Events. All meetings are open to the
public, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attending
at least one or two meetings a week, what you learn there will definitely help
shorten your time in transition.  Also, many
of these groups convene in the evening, so it will not take time away from your
daily job search activities.
 
If
anyone is aware of an upcoming meeting that you would like to share with your colleagues,

Tuesday, January 15th
from 1:00 - 4:00 pm:Trinity
Church will host Alex Freund, a career coach, who
as a community service will offer a free Resume
Tune-up and LinkedIn Workshop.  Participants will walk away with knowledge about subjects such as; the
resume appearance, how to avoid common resume mistakes, what constitutes an
effective resume, the effective way of using keywords in addition to many
pertinent tips for resume improvements.  For the first time we will discuss what
constitutes an effective LinkedIn profile. This workshop is mostly recommended
for people who are currently in transition or others who are considering
changing jobs.  The
church is limiting attendance to a maximum of 80 people, and is on first come

Business Company Resource Center. Ms. Schulman will show you how to identify
your key companies, spot industry trends, and get in-depth background
information for greater success in networking and interviewing. The meeting is

Wednesday, January 16thfrom 1:00 - 3:00 pm:The New York Science, Industry and Business Library will offer a program
titled: WorkSearch Orientation.  Are you a 40+ job seeker? WorkSearchis an online system which provides
links to job openings, skills assessment tools, and training programs at no
cost to individuals.  After taking the
orientation, WorkSearch is
accessible to registrants through the Internet, or through Library
computers.  Attendees will be shown how
to download the information to a USB flash drive (Bring your own USB

Wednesday, January 16th from
1:30 - 4:30 pm:The
NJ Chapter of the ChemPharma Association will host Bill Suits, an ACS Career
Consultant, who will give
a presentation titled:  Tuning Your Resume to the Job Requirements.  Fit to the job rather than your life history
is challenging but not impossible. Bringing key skills and accomplishments
forward in an easy to read manner opens doors normally closed. Survey
informational interviews can open doors where no posting has been placed.
Differentiating oneself often requires omitting some of your proudest history
when not related. These points and others to accelerate your search will be

8:15 - 10:30 am:The
Saint Gregory the Great Networking Group (SGGNG) will host Alex Freund, a career coach, who will give a presentation titled: Elements of the
Job Search Process.  This
is a presentation with the objective to embrace the entire job-search process
and break it down to its elements aligned in a plain and straight forward
logical fashion.  This presentation is
not only for those who just became unemployed but also for those who have been
in transition for a while and feel lost and just hovering over the surface and
without focus.  The audience will learn about:1) The four consecutive
steps to attaining a job,
2) How to create a marketing plan,
3) What are and how to learn the tools of the trade, 4) How should one best
market himself, and 5) How to
continuously improve on

January 19thfrom 8:30 - 11:00 am: Careers in
Transition (CIT) meeting. Individuals give a 15 second elevator speech about
themselves -- who you are, what you are looking for, target companies (2-3),
how the group can help you, and how you can help the group. This is followed by
a short period for networking with people you would like to introduce yourself
to and exchange business cards. The group then divides into smaller teams for:
1) Resume Assistance, (Please bring
15 copies of your resume if you want it reviewed.) or 2) Support in Overcoming Job Search Obstacles. This includes:A) Small group advice for individuals
who have hit the wall and need help to reinvigorate their job search, or B)
Large group discussion on various job search related topics. The meeting is in

Responsibilities:

? Assist in the development of Source to Target Mappings.
? Develop requirements artifacts - functional architecture, high-level requirements (i.e. system features) and use case inventory
? Provide support in documenting all the functional deliverables (like High-level requirements, Use case Inventory)
? Define Test Strategy to cover extensive data and user interface testing; Review test strategy with business and IT teams to prepare an exhaustive Test Plan.
? Create System and Integration Test Cases and Test Data
? Plan, document, conduct and conclude with test results the Testing activities - QA and UAT. This includes preparing the Test Strategy, Test cases and organizing the UAT sessions
? Be a primary owner of all business and functional artifacts for a large scale project (in line with CMM Methodology) as per PMO guidelines
Responsible for Task planning, conducting meetings with business users and system teams and Weekly Status reporting during the entire lifecycle of the project
