Job Description:
Business Technology Strategy Research Analyst:
This role supports the business strategy function for Global Network and Infrastructure Solutions. The research analyst will perform industry and market research on technology products, services, and trends, analyze and synthesize information to form points of view and recommendations. The analyst will also review and analyze the business and technology strategies of supported lines of business to identify potential impacts to network and infrastructure products and services and guide strategy development. He/she will support the business strategy executive by gathering relevant inputs from stakeholders, resources and references to enable formulation of strategy and governance. Lastly, the analyst will assist in the organization and maintenance of the content of a repository of strategy related artifacts and work with the Tool Support Team to make the artifacts accessible to stakeholders.

Needed Skill:
(1) Business technology analytical skills.
(2) Planning and project Management skills.
(3) Skilled in use of MS Office tools.
(4) Familiarity with ITIL and CoBIT frameworks.
(5) Ability to conduct industry and market research, compile and present findings.

Job Description:

This role is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of Infrastructure Technologies that enable U.S. Wholesale businesses to deliver their products and services in the U.S Wholesale Financial Marketplace. The position is to be the subject matter expert on all aspects of Windows based platforms and the associated hardware. This will include performance and trending analyst on Windows based platforms to ensure optimal performance and availability of mission critical applications.

Primary Windows support will be focused on IBM servers, located throughout the US. The environment consists of 1500 servers.

Candidate must be proactive and flexible in terms of planning and making project priority assessments; possess a keen understanding of the impact of project deliverables on the time and technical capacity of staff resources.

All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy principles.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Technical Direction & Services
· Strong MS Operating System knowledge (2003, 2008, 2012)
· Strong scripting abilities (VBscript/PowerShell/.Net/C#)
· Strong with VMWare 4.x, / 5.x ,SQL Server, Microsoft Clustering, SCCM 2012, MOM and SCOM
· Business alignment with all US Wholesale businesses.
· Efficient use of global resources; add business value through cost savings and performance improvement.
· Familiarity with support of NAS/SAN environment. Investigate growth and capacity planning.
· Seek out industry trends and organization knowledge to understand alternative approaches / solutions.
· Think creatively about opportunities to align RBC offerings with future client needs.
· Create metrics, monitoring and system reports for a higher level of information, i.e., trends analysis and management of the “health” of the Intel environment.
· Continuously decrease RBC CM Infrastructure costs.

· Strong understanding of the requirements of supporting Financial Markets Businesses.
· Overall strong background in Microsoft Products (Active Directory, Server OS, SQL)
· Knowledge of all IT Infrastructure core technology areas.
· Knowledge of IT standards, Methodologies, CMM, ITIL and audit requirements.
· Knowledge of principles of Service Management (Support and Delivery).
· Knowledge and understanding of systems life cycles.
· Strong grounding in all areas of Infrastructure Technology.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
