Overview
Our client is seeking aSenior MySQL/MongDB Database Administratorwho will maintain, monitor, tune, troubleshoot and support existing MySQL and MongoDB database environments for production, staging, QA and development. The DBA will manage database security, disaster recovery, and capacity planning; architect database schemas and layouts and monitor and ensure 24x7x365 databases availability and stable operation.
This is afulltime employeeposition in New York, NY (Midtown Manhattan)
Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
• Extensive hands on experience (7+ years) in database administration;
• Experience with MongoDB, replica set, shards, distributed database;
• Experience with MySQL, mysql replication, clustering, query optimization and tuning;
• Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving database problems;
• Skilled in performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools;
• Proficient with backup, restore and recovery models;
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options;
• Experience with scripting languages, implementing operational automation using scripts
