An Rx For Culture Transformation:
A case study showing how Bristol-Myers Squibb is using culture to enable strategy.
NJOD Meeting at BMS - Dec 7, 2009
You've heard the cliché: When culture and strategy clash, culture wins.  The opposite is equally powerful; when you align culture and strategy, you create a successful high-performing organization.

Bristol-Myers Squibb has been on a journey of culture transformation since December 2007 when it announced a strategy to become the best next-generation BioPharma leader. Like every successful culture transformation, the journey takes time. It requires evolved behaviors and new approaches to business. And it requires a rigorous effort to shift a global enterprise from a bureaucratic, slow-moving culture to one that is agile, entrepreneurial and accountable.

Now, you can hear about the transformation from the people driving it.  Jane Luciano, vice president, Global Learning and Organization Development, along with others spearheading the efforts to make sure culture enables strategy, will tell you the story of the company's journey since 2007. You'll hear what's changed ... where the journey is headed ... and ideas you can bring back to your organization.
Jane and her team will bring you:
  • The Business Case for Culture Transformation
  • The Journey
  • Transformational Elements
  • Priorities
The session will be liberally peppered with opportunities for your questions and will conclude with an open forum for extended discussion.  Bios of key speakers noted on right column.
