This highly interactive session will train job candidates to prepare for an interview by understanding the process from the interviewer's perspective. Workshop participants will be taught how to prepare for and answer the most challenging "behavioral interviewing" questions. Other key skills covered include researching companies, nailing the background review and successfully closing the interview. Bring an up to date resume!

SPEAKER
Gregg Russo, the former founding head of human resources for Daiichi Sankyo Pharmaceutical Inc., is a dynamic C-Suite Level Human Resources Executive with extensive experience in start-ups, acquisitions, divestitures and other challenging corporate scenarios, including large growth businesses in numerous, demanding and regulation-heavy industries such as pharmaceutical, defense and retail. Gregg is a veteran human resources executive with more than 20 years' experience. He has been extensively involved in the employment function having personally interviewed more than a thousand job candidates over the course of his career.

Gregg is a certified instructor in Targeted Selection Interviewing and has taught this methodology to both HR and line leaders. Gregg has a Bachelor's and Master's degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and resides in Randolph NJ with his wife and two kids. He is a long time community volunteer and has been recognized for his service as a recipient of the Julius and Bessie Cohn Leadership Award from Metrowest United Jewish Communities and as Honorary Chair of Employment Horizon's dinner gala.

Despite Improved Job Market, Workers Fret About Job Security

Employees remain anxious after having watched friends and family get laid
off and struggle to find new jobs. They also see worrisome aspects in the
economic recovery. Many of the new jobs are relatively low-paying,
service-sector positions

Hiring is up; layoffs are down. Yet an improving job market hasn't
translated into feelings of security for Matt Kiefer's team of medical debt
collection specialists. Kiefer, director of operations at collections firm
MediCredit Inc. in the Orlando, Florida, area, says his staff of six
collectors and a few support personnel hasn't fully recovered from painful
layoffs last year. After MediCredit's parent company the Outsource Group
acquired Kiefer's collections unit from a Florida hospital, nearly 20 people
lost their jobs.

More Companies Go With Online Tests to Fill in the Blanks

Employment assessments can range from online exams for a specific computer
skill to personality tests intended to predict customer service prowess to
extensive evaluations of potential executives.

Companies are giving employment testing high marks these days. Despite a
still-tepid hiring climate, spending on assessments of job candidates and
existing employees rose about 20 percent last year, according to vendors in
the field. Josh Bersin, president and CEO of Oakland, California-based
research firm Bersin & Associates, estimates the global market for
assessment tools and consulting to be between $1.5 billion and $2 billion
annually.
