New York, NY. Description: Client located in New York City is seeking a Global Head of Infrastructure. The Global Head of Infrastructure is a key member of the Technology Leadership team at client. We compete based on the extremely low-latency and high-availability of our services. We are looking for an extremely seasoned leader to help us continue to grow our world-class infrastructure. This position oversees the IT Infrastructure organization and technical infrastructure in accordance with strategic and operational plans and service objectives. Reporting directly to the CIO, this position is responsible for understanding the business growth strategy, and making sure that the technology infrastructure is well ahead of that trajectory. They will direct the design and deploy secure, scalable, reliable and recoverable IT infrastructure. Build organization and direct staff to design, administer and operate the technical infrastructure and provide technology
direction for IT solutions. Manage the IT Infrastructure operating and project budgets and oversee IT spending. Coordinate service providers to deliver the IT infrastructure and operations service portfolio and meet service level commitments.
Responsibilities:
 The Head of Infrastructure will have a strong technical foundation and be responsible for strategy, direction, standards and policies, delivery, team management, etc. In addition, you will ultimately be responsible for performance, reliability, scalability, redundancy, etc.
 Understand the business plans, and make sure there is sufficient infrastructure capacity, scalability, and resiliency to manage the growth accordingly
 Formulate strategic and tactical plans to acquire and implement cost effective infrastructure technologies
 Manage Infrastructure and Operations function activities and the allocation of financial and staff resources
 Organize and report on operational performance and resource utilization and develop cost allocation method
 Develop and manage operating and project budgets for IT Infrastructure and Operations
 Oversee performance of IT infrastructure for efficient operation and proactively determine capacity upgrade needs
 Analyze and make recommendations for the ongoing improvement of the IT infrastructure
 Oversee development of bid requirements for infrastructure upgrades and manage selection process  Authorize deployment, monitoring, maintenance, operation and support of all hardware and system software assets
Develop business case and cost / benefit analyses for IT Infrastructure and Operations spending and initiatives  Direct research on potential technology solutions in support of business initiatives and opportunities
Oversee provision of end-user services, including help desk and end user technical support services
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, purchasing, asset management, service provisioning and regulatory compliance
 Oversee negotiation and administration of vendor, outsourcer and consultant contracts and service agreements
 Manage IT staffing including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation and retention
 Communicate with department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT infrastructure activities
Education/Experience:
 The ideal candidate has been seasoned in an exchange or ECN type environment where there are many incoming client connections to manage, huge amounts of high Frequency data to process, in a tightly controlled and/or regulated environment.
