Position Responsibilities – Summary

Under minimal direction, the Developer II is responsible for preparing
functional specification of application system changes, coding of programs
and testing applications. The Developer II will work with various team
members in Information Technology and Business Areas to gain appropriate
requirements, provide estimates and develop through all phases of the
development cycle. Will actively participate in design and solutions,
escalating issues appropriately. The Developer II will follow established
procedures and have demonstrated a sound knowledge of the discipline(s)
being supported and/or developed. This candidate is expected to provide
ongoing support to production systems and exhibit sound communication,
customer service and collaboration skills.

· Interview users and/or business analysts in order to gather and
document requirements.
· Prepare cost and time estimates for individual deliverables with
the support of senior team members.
· Develop functional and technical specifications.
· Code application programs according to specifications.
· Successfully tests and debugs code at the unit test level.
· Participate with project team members, business analysts and the
user community on system integration testing.
· Follow standards when testing and documenting applications.
· Participate in coordinated production implementations with
Production Technical Services and other application staff
· Advise the Applications Project Manager and/or Team Lead of system
problems or issues.
· Prepare status reports on the progress of all projects.
· Perform after-hours application support as required.
· Participate in on-call, 24/7 coverage on a rotational basis.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Mandatory

3-5 years experience in the design, development and implementation reports
using Business Objects.
2-3 years SQL experience.
2-3 years experience in report analysis and design.

Pluses
Understanding of or experience in source data analysis as it relates to
report development
Understanding of or experience in data modeling including normal form and
star schema design
Experience with data modeling tools such as ER Studio or ERWin
Experience with Unix and Unix shell scripting
Business Objects Universe design and development experience
