Background on the Company and the Position
Greystone Management Corp. is a privately held company in New York City which has managed commercial and residential properties since 1968. Since that time, Greystone has been an active acquirer, owner and manager of a diverse array of real estate investments. The Company is looking to hire a Controller/CFO to oversee all aspects of finance and administration for the company real estate portfolio and owners' personal financials.
Responsibilities
This individual will have primary day-to-day responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities. This includes direct responsibility for accounting; A/P, A/R and Lease Administration; certiorari audits; forecasting/budgeting; payroll, check signatory; and financial regulatory management. Moreover, this individual will support and maintain efficient financial processes and controls that reflect "best practices" with respect to timeliness, efficiency, and relevant reporting for effective management of the business.
This position will provide financial analyses as needed for:
* Capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations
* Due diligence in property acquisitions
* Corporate and owners' personal tax returns.
* Local, state and federal government reporting and record-keeping requirements and tax filings.
In addition to overseeing Company financials, this position will be accountable for IT and office management functions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA is a plus but not mandatory.
* At least eight to ten years of directly related accounting experience in real estate with demonstrated increase in responsibility and at least five plus years in increasingly responsible leadership roles.
* Moderate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
* Demonstrated expertise in organizational management, accounting practices, financial reports, fiscal management and internal controls.
* Exceptional verbal, written, analytical, persuasive and interpersonal skills.
* Intuitive ability to recognize and resolve problems.
* Capacity for seeing alternative solutions to issues and exercising sound judgment in making decisions based on factual data.
* High level of objectivity, tact, integrity and diplomacy in establishing and maintaining effective ongoing relationships with internal and external partners
