Listed below are next week's upcoming networking events. All meetings are open to the public, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try going to one or two meetings a week; what you learn there will most definitely help shorten your time in transition.

I am finalizing the list of October 2012 networking events, which I plan on distributing it next Saturday, 9-29-2012. If anyone is aware of an upcoming meeting, please let me know by Friday and I will add it to the list.

Next Week's Networking Events

Monday, September 24th from 7:00 - 9:30 am: The Mondays at 7 Networking Group will host Mike Werch, a Communications Managers at Indeed.com, who will give a presentation titled: Best Practices in Conducting an Effective Online Job Search. Mike helps educate job seekers on the best practices for online job search and will share his insight on this comprehensive job search engine. Indeed.com offers free access to millions of jobs from thousands of company websites and job boards. Mike will show how Indeed can help in job search, job alerts, career and company research, job trends, salary search, and resumes. Monday, September 24th from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm: Professional Service Group of Central NJ will host Lloyd Feinstein, a Career Coach, who will give a presentation titled: Preparing Your Resume For the Hiring Audience. Because of the Jewish high holidays, PSGCNJ will NOT meet at Temple Beth-El in Hillsborough this week. Instead, the meeting will be at the Bridgewater Library, 1 Vogt Drive, Bridgewater, NJ 08807.

Monday, September 24th from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm: The Westport Public Library's Business Librarian, Sylvia A. Schulman, will give a presentation titled: Energize Your Job Search. Gain an advantage by using valuable online tools such as Reference USA, LexisNexis and Business & Company Resource Center. Ms. Schulman will show you how to identify your key companies, spot industry trends, and get in-depth background information for greater success in networking and interviewing. Monday, September 24th from 6:00 – 8:00 pm: The New Jersey North Chapter of the Greater Philadelphia Senior Executive Group GPSEG (formerly NJENG) invites you to an After Hours Social. Come for an evening of intelligent conversation, business networking, reconnecting with good friends, or making new ones. This is a great way for working members to keep in touch and meet the many new members. We invite other executive level networking groups such as: ChemPharma, FENG, IERG, MENG, NJ-SENG, and TENG. Monday, September 24th from 6:30 – 9:00 pm: Temple Community Network (TCN) will host Barbara Szala, President of In-Person Communications, will give a presentation titled: How to Communicate a Consistent Message That Showcases the Best You. There is preparation needed prior to this event! To get the most out of the meeting, you should come prepared to present your One-Minute Personal Profile-—a thumbnail sketch of whatever will assist your peers in getting to know you outside of the workplace--your likes, dislikes, hobbies, education, family, community involvement, etc. The first 12 volunteers will receive a free video recording of their Profile! Tuesday, September 25th from 7:30 - 9:30 pm: The Career Forum will host Nick Corcodilis, a professional recruiter, who will give a presentation titled: How to Get an Edge in a Competitive Job Market. The meeting is at the Somerset Hills YMCA, 140 Mt. Airy Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920.

Wednesday, September 26th from 1:00 - 3:00 pm: The New York Science, Industry and Business Library, will offer a program titled: WorkSearch Orientation. Are you a 40+ job seeker? WorkSearch is an online system which provides links to job openings, skills assessment tools, and training programs at no cost to individuals. Wednesday September 26th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 pm: The New York Science, Industry and Business Library will host Charles Moldenhauer, an executive coach, who will give a presentation titled: See How You Interview: Mock Interview and Critique. Charles will offer mock interview sessions with a follow-up critique for improving your skills. Thursday, September 27th from 12:00 noon - 1:30 pm: The New York Science, Industry and Business Library, will host Hal Eskenazi, who will give a presentation titled: 15 Second Resume. Do you want to unlock the secrets the experts won't share with you about how to get an interview? Hal will discuss techniques to get your resume noticed by hiring managers and invited in for interviews. Thursday, September 27th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm: The New York Science, Industry and Business Library, will host John Crant, who will give a presentation titled: Building Your Professional Network with LinkedIn and How to Use It in Your Job Search. John will demonstrate how to start networking with LinkedIn.com's networking personal profiles and then use your expanded network in your search for your next career challenge.
