Detailed Info:
Java Developer - Senior Developer will learn the global Private Equity business, including tools and growth strategies. This is a key position in the rapidly growing business. This role requires continuous review and assessment of business situations in order to facilitate the necessary adjustments in order to keep projects on-track in a global marketplace.
The requirements and responsibilities for all aspects of the Senior Development role include (but are not limited to) the following:
1. Work as an integral member of a development team in the design, development, and support of Java-based high-performance, online transaction processing (OLTP) and reporting applications.
2. Maintain and communicate timelines and status relative to business objectives.
3. Mentorship and adherence to corporate and department coding best practices.
4. Hands on development/execution of software designs pursuant to business requirements and goals. Development/Computing Environment: The successful candidate will have at least the following qualifications:
1. 7+ years corporate OO design and development experience.
2. 5+ years corporate server-side Java development.
3. 5+ years corporate relational database development, including in-depth knowledge of SQL.
4. 3+ years corporate java development (including EJB).
5. 3+ years web development (including AJAX, DHTML, XML, XSLT).
6. 3+ years of experience supporting accounting applications in a global market.
7. Deep understanding of Java best practices including Design Patterns.
8. Prior experience with Eclipse, remote debugging and java performance tuning.
9. Strong project leadership experience.
10. Exceptional communication skills.
Additionally, the following qualifications are desired:
1. Experience with Agile development projects.
2. Java Certifications preferred.
3. MBA or advanced technology degree or equivalent experience.
4. Experience with Private Equity, Hedge funds or other alternative investment products and technologies.
5. Experience in financial services, specifically in back or middle-office processing for special investment vehicles, fund accounting and fulfillment systems.
Skills Required for the position: JAVA, SQL, EJB, AJAX, DHTML, XML, PERFORMANCE TUNING, XSLT, ECLIPSE, DESIGN PATTERNS;AGILE, SECURITIES are optional.
This position is at a Jersey City location. It offers a competitive compensation.
