"Managing Interview Stress" on November 19th

November 11, 2012 - The Mondays @ 7 job networking organization will sponsor
a presentation by Dr. Paul Maloney, Assistant Professor of the Practice in
the Applied Psychology Program at Fairfield University Graduate School. Dr.
Maloney's presentation will focus on different kinds of stress, their impact
on performance, and techniques for reducing stress in the interview. It will
examine what can be done before, during, and after the interview and discuss
some practices for developing resilience.
Dr. Maloney received his Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of Virginia
and is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Society for
Industrial and Organizational Psychology. He also has an independent
consulting practice, serving the needs a full range of organizations
including many Fortune 500 companies. His presentation will occur at the
Westport United Methodist Church, 49 Weston Road in Westport (Exit 42 off
the Merritt Parkway.)

Overview
Our client is currently seeking a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis. The Director will provide the Company's senior management with analysis on profitability of existing business segments and new opportunities as identified and/or requested. This role will coordinate the Strategic Plan, monthly Corporate Financial Forecast and Annual Profit Planning process with assigned business units. Also provide in-depth analysis regarding opportunities for growth and cost containment and facilitate.
Responsibilities
·Coordinate with the CEO, CFO, regional CFO's and other members of Senior Management of the Company to ensure that a comprehensive Strategic Plan is compiled and updated for presentation to the Company's Board of Directors. Also ensure that the Annual Profit Plan is completed in an efficient, timely and accurate manner for business segments assigned.
·Establish and maintain a direct support role for the CFO and VP of Investor Relations. To develop and maintain relationships with other members of senior management of the company, regional CFO's and assigned business units. Establish timely review of current operating performance and analyze operations for growth and/or cost control opportunities.
·Perform ad hoc financial modeling and analysis as requested by COO, CFO and the company's senior management and make observations/recommendations based upon the results of the analytical analysis.
·Prepare monthly and quarterly reports and analysis including, the monthly financial forecast for the company, monthly reporting package for the Board of Directors, Business Unit Profitability and Corporate level performance analysis.
·Ensure that proper organizational structure is in place to meet the responsibilities in this area of responsibility. Also, develop and manage analyst(s) ensuring that proper guidance and support is provided.
Qualifications
·10+ years of Financial Planning and Analysis experience including strategic financial planning and financial modeling.
·Must have strong interpersonal skills. Comfortable working with Senior Management.
·Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to work under tight deadlines.
·Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and technology tools such as Business Objects.
·MBA is required.
·CPA is preferred.
·Maintain a presence in NYC office two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
·Previous management experience.

I'm looking for a global, senior-level HR executive to assume the most senior HR Enterprise Operations role for a multinational pharmaceutical firm based in New Jersey. A majority of this position focuses on management of a shared services team. Duties span management of HR operations and the facilitation of auditing and SAP HR modules (Payroll a plus, but not required).

The Director, Global Enterprise Operations is responsible for strategy, management, and execution of all Enterprise Operations (EO) activities globally, leading a direct report team of functional/regional directors and senior managers. This is the most senior EO leader role, assuring coordination of EO activities across the globe as well as integration with the US shared services center for specialized guidance and/or support. This is a complex position that must provide services directly to our customers within the US and regions around the globe as well as provide internal specialty functions across all departments of the service center itself. Ensures operations and deliverables meet or exceed organizational objectives and service levels, follow service center strategies, and integrate as appropriate with other service center functions. Supports the broader HR service delivery model with a focus on customer service.
 
Strategic Management
Provide operational management of diverse teams across multiple geographies, time zones, countries, and operating companies. Develop, lead, and manage enterprise operations programs and services and serve as an escalation/approval point for critical issues. Participate in strategic, financial, and operational planning, preparing and submitting proposals (e.g., annual business plans, annual budget) as necessary. Manage effectively to established parameters. Report accurately on progress, challenges, and potential changes. Partner with other groups to coordinate service delivery strategies and processes across the organization. Participate in, lead, or support cross-functional service center projects and ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities within established constraints.
 
Functional Management
Regional Enterprise Operations: Provide support and guidance to the Director, Regional Enterprise Operations and oversight for the regional EO teams (EMEA, LatAm, AsPac), assuring alignment with global HR service center strategies, objectives, policies, and practices (e.g., services, delivery models, compliance, documentation, reporting).Global Business Structures Management: Provide support and guidance to the Senior Manager, Global Business Structures Management (BSM) and oversight to the BSM team, with accountability for all organization unit management and position management related transactions. Global solutions: Provide support and guidance to the Director, Global Solutions and oversight to the teams for enterprise total rewards management (compensation, benefits, and absence & disability); enterprise employed data management (EDM) and global mobility (GM); global business improvement; and special projects (e.g, mergers & acquisitions). Global
Analytics & Master Data Management: Provide support and guidance to the Director, Global Analytics and Master Data Management and oversight to the team responsible for data standards and compliance, reporting and analytics, HR portal administration, and security.

Operational Compliance and Improvement.

Staff & Organization Development
As a `leader of leaders,` build broad HR service center team performance and establish strategic measures to improve effectiveness and efficiency. Leverage service center resources to lead organizational development within and across teams. Provide leadership in support of organizational direction and culture, inspiring employees and managers alike to greater performance and organizational commitment. Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performers. Participate in succession planning and short/long-term human capital planning. Review and approve recommendations on compensation, recognition, transfer, promotion, or other personnel decisions. Assure that company policies and practices are followed, and set an example for the organization. Assure deployment of resources to participate in the development and delivery of training for internal staff, specialist groups, other HR partners, or third party vendor resources as needed.
 
Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelors Degree is required, advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years of related experience is required. Previous experience as senior-level manager in HR operations is required, preferably for an HR shared service center managing cross-functional HR processes. Must have operational understanding of various HR disciplines (e.g., compensation, benefits, global mobility) and their integration with broader HR services and strategies. Operational experience with Payroll an added advantage. Experience working in a multi-national HR Operations organization, supporting country-specific business requirements. Particular awareness of and sensitivity to political, cultural, economic, social, and related matters for a global organization are essential. Experience designing, developing, and implementing HR and/or Payroll processes improvement initiatives to maximize efficiency & deliver quality services. Able to process complex information
and quickly identify innovative solutions that meet both internal and business partner requirements across diverse groups. Demonstrates cross tower, cross-functional knowledge of HR/Payroll processes and their impact on stakeholders. Demonstrated experience in leading and developing organizations with the ability to mentor other leaders/managers. Demonstrated success in developing diverse high-performance teams. Experience with SOX, audit, and corporate compliance requirements. Experience managing third party vendors, preferably in a shared services environment. Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) highly desirable. Other certifications such as Certified
Payroll Professional (CPP), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) may also be attractive. Experience with an ERP system required (HR modules of SAP required; Payroll modules a plus).

This is a `leader of leaders` role. On a day-to-day basis, this job is internally focused on transactional operations, externally focused as a customer service provider, and internally focused as a provider of specialty functions to the broader service center. To provide a worthy experience to employees and managers, this role must manage his or her duties with an end-to-end process awareness and attention to upstream and downstream implications; consequently, effective partnership with peers within the service center, colleagues outside the service center, and third party vendors outside the company is critical. As noted above, special skill and awareness of complex multi-country issues is essential.
