Project Manager
Location: Hightstown, NJ
Duration: 6 Month Contract
Job Description:
The Transition Project Manager is responsible for the successful
transition
of client IT services into the company's Managed Services delivery
model.
As an extension of the Managed Services service delivery organization,
the
role of the Transition Project Manager is to successfully manage the
transition engagement to achieve the Service Levels and metrics
incorporated into the Statement of Work (SOW). The Transition Project
Manager is responsible for the implementation of the contractual
requirements between the customer and the company. The Project Manager
should have experience with Data Center Migrations and have a
combination
of infrastructure and applications background.
Designs, implements, evaluates and audits project management processes
and
templates for the Project Management Office (PMO). Compiles metrics
relating to IT project success, project attributes, and individual
productivity and adherence to defined processes. Serves as a resource
to
Project Managers and Project Leaders to educate and assist them with
implementing project management processes and making
improvement/changes.
Ensures project control systems are in place and integrates project data
for decision makers. Administers and maintains project management
software
and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project Server). Organizes and publishes
project-related documentation in various sources.
Project Management
• Development and execution of the consolidated Transition
project
plan
• Development and execution of Communications Management Plan
• Leadership and Teamwork
• Change Management, Risk Management, and Financial Management
• Compliance to established timelines and Budget controlling
• Provide identified deliverables as defined in the SOW and
Solution Design
• Delivery "Readiness" to Steady State Operations
• Effective project closeout
Operational Improvement
• Assumption Validation
• Identify Process Improvement opportunities
• Identify Optimization opportunities
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, IT or other
related field or equivalent training.
• PMP Certified or equivalent knowledge of project management
tools, methods and best practices.
• 10+ years of industry experience in IT Services, including
7-10
years of applications and infrastructure project support/management
experience including Data Center Migrations.
• 5-7 or more years of management or matrix management
experience.
• Experience with Project Management in IT outsourcing
environment.
• Proven ability to manage large, complex IT projects
effectively
under timeline pressure and within budget.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate across all level of
an
organization.
• Proven ability to lead a diverse team from all areas of an
organization.
• Excellent communications skills – verbal and written.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Project, Excel, Microsoft
Word,
PowerPoint, basic Visio skills.
