Services for people in-transition at the Princeton Public Library

Posted by: "Alex Freund" alex@landingexpert.com   freundalex

Thu Jul 23, 2009 12:06 pm (PDT)

I am meeting with people in-transition every day. Based on their stories I
categorize them in three groups. Those who fail to get traction, those who
go for interviews but the others get the offers and those that become lucky.
My primary concern is for those who don't get traction. Why? Because I
presume that their resume is less than competitive or they do not focus
their energy in the right direction i.e. right companies or right people.
Today, I received some information from Janie Hermann from the Princeton
Public Library about their unique services supporting people in-transition
which may be immensely valuable for those out there who "do not get
traction"

For example, they offer online databases available from home with a library
card. Some of these databases are unique to this library only. If you do
not have a library card you could get a visitor card good for 2 hours and
have access to everything. They have regularly scheduled programs to assist
jobseekers, including lectures and resume review site. Furthermore, they
offer "Reference by Appointment" by contacting Jane Brown - This 30 minute
one-to-one session will help you with a specific search or learn about
databases. If interested you can find more information via "The Landing
Expert Networking Guide" (www.landingexpert.com
<http://www.landingexpert.com/> under the tab named RESOURCES) and look for
the Princeton Public Library.
