PROJECT/PRODUCT MANAGER NYC 7.17.09 Company Overview: Our client, a NYC based start-up company is developing a cutting-edge service for the social media industry. This unique product redefines the boundaries of content sharing and social networking by enabling users to share video, photos and more, in a synchronized way, while video chatting. This service will have revenue-generating applications within the enterprise space. Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced, high-energy, creative and dedicated individual to be a hands on senior level Project Manager with some Product Management responsibilities. We are looking for a candidate that has prior experience working in a startup environment. This position will be responsible for the following: * Act as liaison between the company, the clients/customers, and channel partners providing strong leadership and communication with all stakeholders. * Provide business process and technical solution expertise, and ability to implement the solution. * Ensure successful roll-out of product to all clients and channel partners. * Work with external partners to ensure their technical and business needs are being met. * Manage communications with developers; work closely with developers to translate product requirements into concise, actionable development tasks. * Identify and resolve operational or other challenges/issues. * Improve processes for managing the business and influence technology decisions to achieve the desired consumer and customer end-to-end experience. * Manage resources, schedules/timelines , budgets, resources and project priorities. Requirements: * At least 5 years experience in project management &/or product management role (web/Internet industry experience is a plus). * Knowledge of front-end web development technologies including: Java, HTML, SQL, PHP. Knowledge of Flex &/or ActionScript, a plus. You do not have to be a programmer. * Experience in social networking and understanding online information exchange channels required. * Experience in working with web-based social interaction applications. * Experience with digital asset management or content management or web based video applications a plus. * High-level strategic capabilities as well as tactical skills. * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize projects. * Strong written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills. * Fast learner, positive attitude, self-starter, team-oriented and flexible. * Demonstrated interest in social networking industry. * Must be legally authorized to work in US.
