Listedbelow are next week's upcoming networking events. All meetings are open to thepublic, plus you are welcome and strongly encouraged to attend. Try attendingat least one or two meetings a week, what you learn there will definitely helpshorten your time in transition. Also, many of these groups convene in theevening, so it will not take time away from your daily job search activities.

In case ofsnow, please check the website or call ahead to make sure that the meeting hasnot been canceled.

This informative session will tell you! Plus you will learn some valuable informationto best utilize the available tools to your advantage. Saturday, February 16th from8:15 - 10:30 am: TheSaint Gregory the Great Networking Group (SGGNG) will host Mary Anne Kennedy, an author and principal consultant at MAKHRConsulting, who will give a presentation titled: Finding the Right Job: A Step-by-StepApproach. This presentation will focus on the jobsearch from not only the candidate perspective but from the corporateperspective. Incorporated into this 60minute presentation will be the step by step approach to the job searchhighlighting the importance of differentiating yourself in order to land theright job with the right organization and not just settle for a job. Saturday,February 16th from 8:30 - 11:00 am: Careers inTransition (CIT) meeting. Individuals give a 15 second elevator speech aboutthemselves -- who you are, what you are looking for, target companies (2-3),how the group can help you, and how you can help the group. This is followed bya short period for networking with people you would like to introduce yourselfto and exchange business cards. The group then divides into smaller teams for:1) Resume Assistance, (Please bring15 copies of your resume if you want it reviewed.) or 2) Support in Overcoming Job Search Obstacles. This includes: A) Small group advice for individualswho have hit the wall and need help to reinvigorate their job search, or B)Large group discussion on various job search related topics. The meeting is inthe Winston School Gym at Christ Church, 30 East Lane, Short Hills, NJ 07078.

Friday, February 22ndfrom 10:00 am - 12:00 noon:The Princeton Public will host MikePalestina, an Executive Coach, who will give a presentation titled: Developing an Effective Job SearchStrategy. Based on the job searchprograms at the world's leading global management firms, there are 10 distinctcomponents of an effective job search strategy. In this highly interactivediscussion, we will identify all of the components, while focusing on how tocreate and execute the 4 or 5 most relevant components. New Job Club:

Tuesdays, from 9:30 - 11:30am: The Willow GrovePresbyterian Church's Job Search Work Team meets weekly to support each otherin their job search. Using a concept that has been proven to be effective overthe past 20 years, participants share with each other the steps they have takenin their job search during the past week, indicate what steps they plan to takein the coming week, and hold each other accountable for taking those actions.The participants share techniques that have worked for them, and suggestapproaches to their fellow searchers. This group is for those who are seriousabout their search, committed to both receiving and giving support to fellowjob searchers, and realize that accountability for doing what you say is alarge part of your search.
