Trading Infrastructure Engineer

This person will help build and support the technical infrastructure that underlies the proprietary trading applications of the firm. They will be responsible for high-level design of trading systems architecture, in-depth performance analysis and troubleshooting, and planning and deployment of new installations of the trading infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Identify, evaluate and automate new technology
• Drive the deployment of new installations of trading systems at exchange colocations
Skills/Attributes:
Deep understanding of Linux Operating System internals
• Understanding how network stacks, scheduler, virtual memory system, interrupt handling, and device drivers work
• Ability to dive into kernel source
Experience with performance analysis and optimization
• Familiarity with performance analysis tools (sar, oprofile, vmstat, iostat, strace, systemtap, tcpdump)
• Understanding of linux kernel tunables(/proc/sys, sysctl interfaces)
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Multicast, Routing and Switching technology
• Extensive experience with scripting, preferably in python
• Knowledge of C, C++, SQL a plus
