Speaker: Alex Freund, Landing Expert - Career Coaching Services

TOPIC

This presentation exposes the thinking of the hiring manager. It shows how the interview is focused on the needs of the company and the hiring manager -- and less on the candidate.

How is the hiring manager checking out the candidate well beyond the resume and interview? What are the values that are important for the hiring manager?

You will learn how to search for those and answeer interview questions properly.

SPEAKER

ALEX FREUND: Alex Freund had a long career working for major Fortune 500 companies in the capacity of Corporate Director. Initially, after graduating from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, Alex worked in hotels and hospitals. From there, he moved on managing the complex challenges of feeding thousands of employees in many locations throughout the country. Alex has managed some 35 different departments also known as Facilities Administration or Support Services.

Alex has extensive experience with interviewing people. He has also practical training in career coaching. Consequently, he formed LandingExpert – Career Coaching services (www.LandingExpert.com). He is prominent in a number of networking groups and has helped many job seekers with their career searches, providing them with tools, information, marketing material, and one-on-one preparation for the interview.

Alex lived in three continents and speaks five languages. Currently, he lives in the Princeton, NJ area with his wife and twon grown children.

My direct client in the media industry has an immediate need for a Junior BI Developer/Analyst. Here are the details:

LOCATION: New York, NY
DURATION: 6 months contract to hire
START: ASAP
RATE: $50/hour to $60/hour; $90K/year to $115K/year when perm

Responsibilities:

Responsible for project delivery and on-going support of Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
Collaborate with business management in setting the technology direction and objectives; prioritizing business needs and formulating plans to deliver on those commitments.
Establish a close partnership with key internal clients and other IT application teams to provide data strategy expertise ensuring overall data quality within our services.
Participate in requirements gathering, data analysis and modeling; work with IT partners to design and implement BI solutions and tools.
Manage the design and development of portals, dashboards, ad-hoc and standard reporting related to functional business groups supported by the team.
Determine and lead integration with existing systems; work with business and IT to gather required data from multiple systems and platforms.
Lead a development team of onsite and offshore resources and manage tasks through the team’s Shared Support organization.
Coordinate system, user and stress testing; create controls to monitor performance for ongoing model optimization.

Requirements:

3-5 Years experience with Developing and Implementing Business Intelligence Strategies
3-5 years experience with Data Warehouse Principals and Analytical Tools such as Teradata, Oracle, Business Objects, Cognos, Microstrategy, Applix TM1, Vignette, Adobe Flex

Job Description Overview

analyze their spend and supplier relationships. Delivered on demand, our
enterprise-class offerings empower companies to achieve greater control of their
spend and drive continuous improvements in financial and supply chain
performance. More than 1,000 companies, including more than half of the
companies on the Fortune 100, use Ariba solutions to manage their spend from
sourcing and orders through invoicing and payment.

This person will plan, develop and implement prospect campaigns to further the
volume of qualified inquires. He/she will be the central point of contact for
Global campaigns â€" spanning North America and Northern/Southern/Continental
Europe. He/she must be comfortable with ambiguously defined problems, big
challenges, and can balance thinking with tactical, detailed execution.

Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop Ariba’s global campaign strategy to maximize results in all
target, global regions that includes business model messaging, overall company
position coupled with individual solution know-how;
· Launch breakthrough ideas and innovative campaigns to our prospect
base via all relevant mediums (Webinars, live events, targeted e-mails, Web
content and direct mail)
· Create marketing campaigns calendar that complements Ariba solution
marketing priorities and industry/internal tradeshows and conferences;
· Develop end-to-end marketing campaigns from mass exposure to engaging
the Field Marketing organization for individualize follow-through; run multiple
campaigns simultaneously without clouding the overall message;

· Define the marketing automation flow for lead nurturing campaigns and
targeted outreach by industry, solution, etc.;
· Maximize trends and AR “wins” by developing campaigns that are timely
and relevant
· Understand, manage and leverage relationships with industry
organizations, associations and industry influencers;
· Coordinate with inside sales team to ensure timely follow-up from
campaigns and events and solicit feedback on the quality of leads from specific
activities;
· Understand the power of social media and marketing; leverage
innovative outlets to complement lead gen efforts;
· Work with limited supervision;
· Articulate plans and results to management;
· Manage a team and utilize cross-department resources; and
· Manage and create a global budget; review dollars spent with ROI
gained and make adjustments as necessary throughout the year.

Preferred Qualifications:
· Desirable: MBA; Experience in high-technology environment a must
· 8-10 years experience in a demand creation role
· Experience managing a team both in-person and virtual required
· Prior experience in B2B software marketing; experience touting
multiple solutions and solution lines a must
· Must be extremely creative and show an ability to take technical
concepts and translate into campaign ideas that are digestible and actionable
· Campaign creation and execution experience in North America and Europe
· Proven ability to make decisions based on metrics
· Proficient in MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint and
Excel; Salesforce.com experience required
· Excellent project management and organizational skills
· Must possess excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

· Strong ability to lead teams and influence others who report on a
solid and dotted line basis
· Ability to manage large detailed project to tight timeline. Responds
under pressures of time and uncertainty
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to earn trust and respect from
management

· Outstanding presentation/communication skills
· Experience with reporting, marketing and campaign dashboards and KPIs
· Excellent analytical abilities
· Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead by example and achieve
extraordinary results
· High energy, self-directed, team player
· Detail oriented

Basic Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field
· 10-20% Travel Required.
