Solutions Architect – Common Platform CP1.0 and/ or CP1.5

Scope:
• This is a global role, reporting to the Global Head of Solutions, based in UK
• The role will be aligned to one (or two) of the main Strategic Business Units that form our internal customer base, to give a business focused solutions service.

Responsibilities:
• Be the First Point of Contact for all CP (Common Platform) projects requiring design information, assistance or product help from DCE (Data Centre Engineerind)
• Provide Business Targeted guidance on efficient and appropriate use of IT Technology and Services
• Build relationships with key business stakeholders, promoting the Solutions Architect function as the primary contact for design engagement with DCE.
• Ensure that responses and deliveries are made within the constraints of the OLA agreements
• Research new and emerging technologies.
• Provide Technical Governance representation for the DCE category
• Champion the roll-out of new technologies or solutions from the DCE organisation on identifying a genuine business need
• Contribute to the building of a comprehensive collection of knowledge and solution examples to be used to drive `Best Practice' adoption of technology configurations throughout Tech Ops
• Steer the major CP sponsoring SBU (Strategic Business Unit) Project Managers to the most appropriate contacts and processes for engagements with DCE
• Participate in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyse requirements and provide design recommendations for complex systems.
• Collaborate in setting development guidelines
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application development teams
• Provide CP Development and Programme teams with Tailored Pipelines into DCE, accessing Resources, Functions, Knowledge and Wisdom, as an enabler for an overall improvement in IT Service Delivery
• Provide input to the DCE IT Service Strategy Group, by understanding, collecting and collating, emerging IT Service needs and requirements.
• Produce, manage and maintain a clear and comprehensive DCE IT Service Catalogue and Technical Solutions Library, inputting to the wider Tech Ops Service Catalogue and Knowledge Management initiatives
• Help provide DCE related cost transparency data and TCO reduction opportunities, to assist the business in their prioritisation and development decisions

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in IT.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in an IT field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a management field
• Excellent Communication skills, clearly and precisely both verbally and in writing
• Excellent English language skills – understanding, speaking and writing
• Strong experience of Networking
• Strong experience of firewalls, virtualization, storage or backups
• Good knowledge of MS-Windows OS, MS-Office.
• Fundamental computer networking skills
• Logical with strong analytical skills
• Must display drive, enthusiasm and attention to detail
• Plan and prioritize workload and demands
• Take personal ownership to deliver customer satisfaction
• Respect and work effectively with diverse people, perspectives and ideas
• Ability to work flexible working hours
