I have an immediate need for a Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL Database Administrators.
 

 

Location: New York, New York

Duration: Full time  

Start date: ASAP

Title: Oracle or SQL DBA

Description:

 

As a Database Administrator for Bluewolf's Managed Services team, you will have the opportunity to administer, maintain and monitor client's production and non-production databases.  Because we support clients of all sizes, you will have the chance to work with some of the most cutting edge database technology including cloud computing and advanced clustering technologies. This is not your standard in-house DBA position!

In this role you will communicate directly with clients who will view you as their DBA and you will perform production support activities such as:

·         Backups/Recovery

·          import/exports

·         Creating and monitoring jobs

·         Create and implement database maintenance plan

·          migration of database objects from nonproduction to production

·         index maintenance

·         performance tuning

·          as well ensuring that monitoring is set up correctly

·         24x7 emergency production support as needed

·          Implement Database Change Controls & Service Requests

·         Use Bluewolf's ticketing system to track work

The candidate needs to have experience with the following:

·         Minimum 3 to 4 years of work experience as an on-call production Database Administrator for Oracle, MySQL or SQL Server

·         Certification a plus

·         Solid skills in database performance factors, monitoring tools and tuning procedures. 

·         Strong Database Management skills, including backup and recovery procedures.  

·         Knowledge of fault detection and resolution processes

·         Strong communication skills a must!
