Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) guest speaker this month, Thursday
June 9 is Bill Cusano. He will introduce the concept of using a story to
make meaningful and lasting impressions.

NFP is where people meet to expand their network connections, as well as

Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
Our client, a rapidly growing $25 million dollar division of an international company, manufactures seam welded tubing in Central New Jersey for critical oil/gas industry applications. The division is ISO 9001 certified and is looking for a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. The position will report to the Director of Materials Technology and Quality.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This individual will have job responsibilities supporting the Quality Management System, including: preparation/revision of ISO documents, managing customer complaints and corrective/preventive actions; preparation for monthly review meetings, and assisting with customer audits. Another important responsibility will be to manage the internal audit process. This will involve preparation of audit checklists and conducting monthly audits.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
To be qualified for this position, candidates must have a minimum of 7 years experience in Quality Assurance, ISO 9001 and auditing, preferably with a manufacturing facility in the Metals Industry.
Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills. Training & standup presentation skills are preferred.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office is required. Experience with welding and tube manufacturing is a plus.
EDUCATION:
BS Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Material Science or Industrial
COMPENSATION:
Salary will be $85,000-$105,000 based on applicable experience. Relocation is available

RELIABILITY / QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER– CENTRAL NEW JERSEY
POSITION SUMMARY:
This newly created hands on position will be responsible to lead the Reliability Engineering and Quality Assurance function of our client's new product development lab for industrial laser products. You will define and execute projects that verify functional requirements and validate overall reliability for the fast growing High Power Fiber Laser Components product line and oversee the Quality Assurance Group to insure compliance to ISO standards. This position will also develop, modify, apply and maintain quality and reliability standards and evaluation methods for products and processes from the product development phase through customer qualification and production. The position reports to the General Manager and has the authority to ensure that the quality management system is established, implemented and maintained. Industrial laser industry experience is highly desirable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze for Reliability in terms of design, cost, production and customer satisfaction of laser components and modules from the development phase through production.
• Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the quality of products, processes and equipment.
• Lead corrective and preventive action programs, perform root cause analyses and implement required corrective actions. Develop and review failure analysis reports based on reliability testing and investigate/report on product returns and customer complaints.
• Facilitate continuous improvement through the effective use of various tools such, as Six Sigma, TQM/TPM, LEAN, HALT and FMEA.
• Manage the improvement of processes and products meeting customer requirements in all manufacturing and business processes.
• Liaise with new product development team, production team, vendors and customers to ensure quality and reliability requirements are established and met/exceeded.
• Responsible for the quality system audit process meeting standard ISO 9000:2000 and customer audits.
• Supervise quality and reliability engineering and support staff, hiring, training, coaching and directing as required to ensure high levels of performance.

REQUIRED:

• B.S. degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required; M.S. preferred. Must have formal quality training, certification preferred.
• Industrial Laser Industry experience is highly preferred.
• Five + years experience managing the quality/reliability/application engineering function in the optics, fiber or laser industry required.
• Must have strong leadership, people management, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent computer skills for analysis and reporting, and exceptional communication skills to interact with customers, suppliers and all departments and levels.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize reliability statistics and models, failure analysis techniques, correct and preventive action methods, and continuous improvement.
• Requires a highly motivated and detail oriented self-starter, able to lead an effective reliability and quality program in a highly technical, fast-paced environment.
• Labview and/or Visual Basic programming knowledge.
• Understanding of HASS, HALT and Lifetest Design requirements.
• Practical "hands-on" experience with reliability test equipment is a plus.

COMPENSATION:

Generous base pay plus bonus and incentives with full range of benefits.
