FW: NYExUG - July Meeting Reminder

Posted by: "John Rechenberg" jar1@optimum.net   john_rechenberg

Fri Jul 8, 2011 5:00 am (PDT)

Reminder about our upcoming July meeting, this upcoming Tuesday
(7/12). This will be a vendor demo of an Exchange data protection solution
from a vendor called Nimble Storage. They call themselves a "converged
storage" solution for primary storage, backup, replication, and disaster
recovery. Even if you're satisfied with your backup solution of a lagged
copy or the "cloud" (joke), I always recommend knowing what backup options
exist in the market so you are aware of different approaches and techniques
to data storage and recovery.

This Month's Meeting RSVP deadline by Mon 4pm EST (free - includes pizza
dinner & raffles)

https://www.clicktoattend.com/invitation.aspx?code=156235

Meeting Date/Time

Tue, 7/12. Doors open at 6pm. Meeting location details below.

Meeting Sponsored by Nimble Storage

Speaker: Daniel Kane of Kimble Storage

Topic: Exchange Data Protection in a Box by Nimble Storage

Nimble Storage presents: How "Converged Storage" Simplifies Data Management
for Exchange Administrators

Microsoft Exchange Server is the most widely deployed email and messaging
platform used by enterprises today. However, supporting and managing
Exchange presents significant storage and backup challenges. How can you
manage growth, meet performance requirements, and protect your
organization's data without breaking the bank?

Nimble Storage-launched by the early technology leaders of NetApp and Data
Domain-has developed a purpose-built storage architecture that integrates
flash memory and high-capacity disk for the first time, combining primary
storage, backup, replication, and disaster recovery in a single "converged"
solution. Benefits include:

. Flash-accelerated performance

. Instant backups and restores

. Automated, WAN-efficient, offsite disaster recovery

. Predefined Exchange data protection policies

. Simplified management designed for the IT generalist

. All for 60% lower cost than existing solutions

For the Program and Project Manager postions we are looking at rates from $80 - $110 to the independent consultant. If we can find an ideal candidate with extensive expereince in organizational change managment we are willing to go to the client and try to obtain a higher rate. For the organizational change managment position, the candidate should have this as the major focus of thier career over the last 15 years and be considered and expert in the field who can work with all levels of the organization from the CEO to a clerk in the call center.

Let me know if you need addtional information.
