Toys R Us - Wayne, NJ (Greater New York City Area)
Develop and Design themes, graphic concepts and technical designs that achieve
the BRU overall product strategy, quality and financial objectives for private
label. Job Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with Product Managers in creating both original art and
interpreting purchased art to support brand concepts.
* Work with Product Managers to create, maintain, and update presentation
boards for milestone meetings.
* Be aware of current trends in graphics, pattern, print, and remain abreast of
competitive benchmark
* Execute Design to the agreed seasonal aesthetic for product, including color,
pattern, print, trim, findings and any other materials.
* Create original patterns and designs for print fabrics. and/or manipulate
purchased prints for textile products
* Create graphic placement art
* Create and manipulate color pattern, print, graphic, color for fabric designs
and trims.
* Execute pattern, print, and artwork repeats and placement for sampling and
production.
* Enter, manage, and maintain pattern, print and graphic information in Web
PDM.
* Ensure the creativity of original designs while incorporating fashion
trends. 
* Understand vendor capabilities for pattern and print techniques and vendor
fabric bases
* Drive financial results by providing design solutions for business
opportunities that differentiate and are unique to BRU, including key
initiatives, new product concepts, seasonal themes, and transitional business
shifts.
* Execute within seasonal time and action calendar, manage resources, meet all
deadlines and drive continuous improvement and efficiencies.
* Manage communication among internal and external Design Teams, Product
Managers, Merchants, Marketing and vendors to drive effective and efficient line
development.  Develop & maintain strong internal and external partnerships.
* Initiate and maintain seasonal archive of all patterns, prints, graphics, and
trims developed.
Desired Skills & Experience
* 4-year Degree in design, textiles, fine art or related degree.
* Proven graphic design expertise in apparel, kidswear background preferred. 
Must be well rounded in print, pattern, and graphics.  Portfolio sample will be
reviewed by selected candidates.
* Must have computer skills in using Photoshop and Illustrator, Word, Excel,
Outlook.
* Must be PC proficient.
* Demonstrate creative ability including strong commercial color sense, pattern
merchandising ability, and general market knowledge.
* Ability to research and apply market/trend information
* Web PDM experience is strongly preferred.
* Five years experience in design and product development processes
is preferred.

Sherwood Talent Solutions, a division of Sherwood Learning Solutions, will be
adding a driven individual to our successful team. This is an excellent

As a business development representative, you'll be working out of our offices
in Fairfield, NJ, on a part-time basis. Your primary responsibilities will
include:
 
·         Contacting key HR decision-makers in the New Jersey market to tell
them about Sherwood and to generate interest in our services.
·         Assisting the managing director by qualifying leads to better manage
the territory.
·         Conducting market research to be followed up by the managing director.
·         Targeting top 100 companies in the tri-state area by sending out
marketing literature.
·         Qualifying leads.

conversations with prospects.
·         Assisting with research and candidate development for searches as

Requirements
 
The successful candidate should have:

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: The State of New Jersey is embarking on a bold and
ambitious strategy for education reform. Under the leadership of Governor
Christie and Acting Commissioner Cerf, the N.J.D.O.E. has begun a deliberate and
disciplined process to tackle some of the most significant obstacles standing in
the way of every student having the opportunity to graduate high school, both
college- and career-ready.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial and experienced
professional to create and manage the human capital strategy, tools and
infrastructure for one of the most exciting state education transformation
efforts in the nation.
The Chief Talent Officer will be fully responsible for designing and executing a
talent management strategy that fully aligns with the organization's mission and
goals. This is a unique opportunity to influence the quality of teachers,
principals and educational leaders for a system serving 1.4 million students.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as a key thought leader and subject matter expert on all topics
relating to teacher and principal effectiveness while successfully accounting
for the political and operational complexities associated with large-scale
transformation efforts
* Advise the Commissioner on mission-critical strategic priorities, proposing
bold solutions on a range human capital issues relevant to the K-12 setting
(e.g.: recruitment, preparation, certification, compensation and evaluation)
* Identify best practices among local districts, other states, partner
organizations and the broader non-profit and for-profit marketplace to ensure
that the organization is bringing the best thinking to bear on its specific
practices and approach to talent management
* Manage a team of over 100 professionals, overseeing the day-to-day operations
of all of the department's educator-related initiatives
* Lead internal communications related to all HR programs and the rollout of HR
policies and procedures
* Identify and track key metrics to measure progress against internal and
external goals
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:

* 5+ years of work experience with an emphasis on student achievement and
demonstrated success driving improved performance as a leader of educators
* Expertise in educator-related reform issues, such as teacher evaluations and
instructional improvement
* Proven experience designing and executing a strategic and broad-based talent
management initiative
* Strong entrepreneurial skills with an ability to communicate clearly during
times of growth and change
* Ability to establish and build a wide range of relationships across the
organization's multiple internal and external stakeholders, such as staff,
teachers, principals, unions, community groups and advocacy organizations
* Ability to function as both a catalyst and coach, guiding people at all
levels of the education system by utilizing a facilitative approach that results
in advancing the learning and development of others
* Ability to function well in a dynamic, fast paced environment
* Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
COMPENSATION:
Compensation package is commensurate with experience.
