I received the following from Deanne Corris.

Since we spoke a month or so ago, the IMA CFC organization held our first
meeting of the year (which was a success) and we have another upcoming
meeting on Nov 15 which will cover White Collar Crime.

I have attached our newsletter from our first meeting and then the second
page is the invite for our Nov meeting (PDF format). I expect this speaker
to be awesome based on his experience and the time I've spent with him on
the phone. I would encourage people to come out and join us for the meeting
and network! As a side note, we are also collecting non-perishables for the
CT Food Bank.

This meeting is not just for finance and accounting individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
·         Perform organization's accounts payable functions including, recording all invoices, processing semi-monthly payroll, investigating discrepancies and ensuring that all invoices are processed and paid on a timely basis
·         Perform organization's accounts receivable and cash receipt functions including, recording all pledges and payments and processing cash receipts
·         Reconcile monthly bank statements, payroll, cash flow and monthly revenue
·         Perform month-end and year-end closing process, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, accrued and prepaid expense adjustments, receivables, and balance sheet account reconciliation
·         Assist with monitoring restricted and government grant budgets and expenses/accounts
·         Prepare financial and grant management reports, including but not limited to budget to actual variances, financial statements, and grant expense reports
·         Prepare supporting documentation and generally assist the Director of Financefor all organization audits and Form 990 tax return preparation
·         Recommending, developing, and maintaining financial databases and manual filing systems
* Uploading and allocating employee payroll and timesheet data to the accounting system
·         Implement and enforce sound fiscal policies, procedures and controls
* Performing other accounting, financial, ad-hoc analyses, or administrative tasks as required by the Director of Finance and/or COO

·         BA/BS in accounting, business, or related field
·         Minimum of three years comparable work experience, preferably in the non-profit sector
·         Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel required
·         Experience with Fund-EZ or other mid-range accounting software packages (Great Plains, Sage MIP, Financial Edge) preferred
·         Experience with ADP TotalSource preferred
·         Strong analytical skills and knowledge of GAAP accounting
·         Highly detail oriented with superior organizational skills

POSITION OBJECTIVES: 
The Head of Quality Assurance will be responsible for developing a Quality Assurance strategy that meets current and evolving regulatory requirements, improves the quality of new and legacy products and systems, and creates a culture of service and product quality that permeates the systems organization. 
The Head of Quality Assurance will evaluate the quality processes, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and security policies for both the existing complex legacy systems environment as well as new application development, and lead the creation of a quality assurance framework that will ensure that all applications and systems have the reliability, robustness, and scalability needed to enable and support the continued growth of the business.

g)       Provide the context and leadership to motivate the Quality Assurance organization to achieve high levels of performance and job satisfaction. Establish clear performance goals and objectives for the Quality Assurance team to improve the service delivery and business relationships within their respective areas of responsibility; put metrics in place to assess and acknowledge their success. Provide direction and build the capabilities and bench strength of the team reporting into the position through coaching, mentoring and through hiring externally where needed in order to create a world class team. Hold strategic sourcing partners to similar talent requirements.
h)       Create a Client Centric Culture – drive a passion for customer service throughout the organization by helping to create an awareness of how end to end quality processes and metrics impact the overall client experience.

Position Requirements

Database and operating systems experience with SQL
Competent and proficient understanding of platforms, such as .NET
Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including .NET.asp
Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
