In particular, I thought you might be a good fit for this position: Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Change Control/ Release Coordinator for a long term contract assignment with one of our premier financial industry clients in Lower Manhattan, NYC. This position is responsible for management of the environment planning function to support release management and testing. Core responsibilities of the individual include environment planning for release testing (QA/UAT), environment issue escalation and support, environment availability reporting and production deployment planning and execution.
Responsibilities:
- Adhere to established processes to ensure timely and successful production deployments.
- Help define new best practices in change & release management policies and procedures
- Structure appropriate releases/schedules
- Lead Implementation planning meetings prior to deployment
- Engage and schedule functional resources in support of deployment and implementation verification
- Acquire final approvals from QA and the LOB for application deployments
- Responsible for Dev, QA, UAT, DR, Prod, and other client-facing environments as well as project deploys and infrastructure upgrades, when necessary
- Ensure that all applicable environment issues are resolved in advance of production implementation
- Execute deployment according to implementation plan
- Coordinate overall deployment plan
- Track deployment activities as they occur using implementation plan
Required Skills:
- Release Management / Change Control experience
- Project Coordination experience
- Experience not just executing the release management process but defining it across a large-scale organization.
- Experience with Java, Websphere and .net Environments
- Windows and Linux Operating Systems
- A strong troubleshooting technical background is required.
- MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- Must be a self-starter, flexible, self-directed and extremely detail-oriented
- Financial services experience is highly desired.
