Summary

This position is responsible for creating and delivering regularly scheduled network capacity reports and dashboards related to various aspects of our client's IP and HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) Network, with a particular focus on their Business Services products and services (Metro Ethernet, Cell Backhaul, Commercial Legacy, Wide Area Ethernet and others, as required).

" We need someone that can analyze various types of data associated with their network (voice, data, video) and create a predictive model in regards to network utilization. Someone that has this background will more than likely come from a company that either broadcasts television (Charter Communications, Time Warner Cable, FiOS, etc.) or has a backbone where they provide services such as an ISP's and wireless companies (Verizon Wireless, Sprint, AT&T, etc), and finally maybe someone that is a supplier to these organizations like Avaya, Cisco, Motorola, Juniper, etc."

Duties and Responsibilities

· Collect data from Capacity Planning's database infrastructure, compile and analyze data, produce and deliver accurate and complete capacity reports that are provided to management, Network Engineering, Operations and the Business Unit, per defined schedules.

· Contribute to the development of an automated process that accounts for current network utilization, sold Business Services orders and projected sales to provide a predictive network utilization forecast to support both organic growth and new customer requirements.

· Create and deliver regularly scheduled capacity reports, providing detailed analyses of observed trends and investigating any anomalies discovered.

o Compile and deliver monthly network utilization dashboards and analyses for network infrastructures associated with Business Services product lines.

o Work with Network Engineering to understand and document augmentation plans associated with capacity alerts that have been identified.

o Maintain historic capacity data and produce utilization and associated forecasts as required.

· Work closely with the Capacity Planning Development team to automate repeatable processes to improve data processing and reporting efficiencies.

· Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required.

· Some travel may be required.

Education

· B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, an Engineering discipline or equivalent work experience.

Experience

· 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst is required (strong SQL background is essential – experience with Tableau is a huge plus)

· Proficiency with SQL, Access and Excel is required. A demonstrated ability to create and execute SQL queries, manipulate data in Access and create pivot tables in Excel is required to be successful in this role.

· Experience analyzing network data is required.
