Subject: Referral Fee: $3,000 - Java Developer Needed - $85,000 to $150,000

Scott:

Hope you are well. We are connected via LinkedIn. I am paying $3,000 for every successfully hired referral for the following:

I have a client of mine that is looking to hire 10 Java, C++, full time developers in Seattle, Washington for a Fortune 1000 company.
Relocation is available as well.

My client is a developer´s dream!

If you know of anyone or believe this is for you, here are some specs:

1. Salary: $85,000 to $150,000
2. Java
3. C++
4. Ruby/Python (Not a requirement, but helpful)
5. 4 year CS or IS degree
6. Well spoken
7. Team Player
8. US Citizen or Green Card Holder
9. Seattle, Washington, - Relocation available

Our client only hires the best and the brightest, and those that work well on small teams of 6-12.

"Clean code" is a must.

Who do you know that might be a good fit for the position?

Feel free to forward this email to your colleagues as well.

I look forward to your feedback.

Establishing an Enterprise BA Practice
NJ IIBA Chapter Meeting
February 18, 2010

*
*
The role of the business analyst is an important one for any organization.
Yet, few companies use their BAs effectively. UPS recently instituted an
enterprise-wide standard practice and training program for its business
analysts in support of an initiative to create better requirements across
its software-development projects.

This presentation will focus on the importance and benefits of establishing
an enterprise-wide BA practice that applies consistent processes across all
application teams - the same tools, methodologies, and best practices

*
*Tom Ryder* is the Business Analysis Practice Project Leader at UPS
Information Services and is responsible for implementing the Business
Analysis Practice initiative at UPS. Tom is also responsible for ensuring
the success of the UPS Business Analysis Training Program, establishing
standard processes, and metrics for overall improvement in business analyst
work products.

Tom has been with UPS 17 years with over 12 years in the practice of
business analysis. Tom has a Bachelor of Science and Finance from St. John's
University, and an M.S. in Management Information Systems from the New
Jersey Institute of Technology. Tom is a member of the IIBA and serves on
the IIBA's Competency Model committee.

caught my eye - *Engaged or Married: What's the Right Level of Commitment
Between PMs and BAs to Find Lasting Project Happiness? *

For those who are engaged, much of your time together is all smiles and
love, you can't get enough of each other. For those like me who have been
married a while we look back and have fond memories of the engagement
period, then our thoughts turn to making the marriage work; the balance
between family, work, and friends. Marriage is hard work, especially if you
want to make it succeed.

So my conclusion is that marriage is a type of 'project' and both parties
have requirements and expectations. We have to understand each other's
requirements and we have to project manage the marriage relationship to make
it successful. One spouse is committed to making the other spouse
successful, happy and willing to stay in the marriage and vice versa.
Conflicts arise which could destroy the marriage unless they are worked out.

Do project managers and business analysts interact in similar ways? Since
I've been married much longer (34 years) than I was engaged (3 months), my
bet is that PMs and BAs have to act like married couples.

This should be an interesting panel discussion and I'm sure there will be a
lot of audience interaction.

See you in Philly in April!

New Jersey companies in January. Groups range in size from 6 to 20. One
company will sponsor several groups that meet in different company
locations.

Companies provide meeting facilities at times convenient to employees. Some
include webinar connections for remote employees, or websites for discussion
groups and shared documents. <profdev@newjersey.theiiba.org>

LinkedIn expert tip – find people without paying $25
Posted: 02 Feb 2010 12:20 PM PST
Summary:

Sometimes, you search for someone in LinkedIn, but it says "out of network" because they aren't a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd level connection, and LinkedIn won't give you the person's name.   You assume you have to pay LinkedIn $25 in order to see their name.  Not true, because you know me.

Details:
Here's my real life example
I was talking to a potential client (for social media consulting) at Connecticut Plastics, and she mentioned to me that the owner would be calling me.  I didn't hear his name clearly, and it would be awkward if I didn't know him by name when he called.
I did an advanced search on LinkedIn for

Connecticut Plastics ownerand it showed that he had a LinkedIn profile, but he was "out of network", so LinkedIn wouldn't give his name.
Cough up 25 bucks?  Not yet.
Look in Google using a fancy trick
Realize that Google has most LinkedIn profiles, so the trick is to somehow find them on Google for free.  If you pick some unique string from the info that LinkedIn does show you, and use a special feature of Google called the "site:" feature, (which allows you to just search one site on the Internet), you may find the name and full profile through Google.
I saw the string

Engineer at Alinabalin his profile and figured that very few other people would have that string in their profile.  Therefore, I put it into Google, along with the word owner, using the following magic search string

Engineer at Alinabal owner site:www.linkedin.comand found the profile in the Google results.  I clicked on the link, and LinkedIn showed me the LinkedIn profile page, with name and all.
See a 2 minute sample video
If you want to see a 2 minute video that shows exactly how to do it, go to my web site at

http://www.patrickomalley.com/linkedin-find-out-of-network-profiles-free.htmlThis technique doesn't work in every case, but it works in a lot of cases.  If it works for you, please send me $25 each time.
Pretty cool, huh?   Pass it on…
Shameless self-promotion

My email subscribers got this months ago – If you want these before I make them public, sign up for my email newsletter at http://www.patrickomalley.com
Speeches and seminars – I've been giving this tip in speeches and seminars for years.  Hire me and get WAY ahead of the curve.  And your friends will think you're cool.Share and Enjoy:
