Based in NY, this role involves communicating with clients, other IT groups
and Sales IT groups in the region and hubs to gather and document business
and technical requirements across multiple Sales strategy projects,
performing system analysis of business needs and write business

This role involves:-

* Liaison with the business users to gather requirements; initiate and
build excellent relationships with key business personnel.
* Capture requirements and provide design options for the solutions
available
* Provide domain expertise to help define a viable business solution,
working with the key business sponsors.
* Ensuring that the services delivered conforms with, and contribute
to, the development of the business strategy
* Leverage of common initiatives with other HSBC centres to maximize
re-use of data or technology solutions.
* Liaise with the development team onshore and offshore to ensure the
requirements are understood and correctly developed, and ensure appropriate
test scenario creation/execution.
* Develop relevant technical documentation and specification
* Creation of logical and innovative solutions to complex problems.
* Develop expert-level understanding of systems used by Sales
globally.
* Assess the impacts on the project plans resulting from change
requests, ad hoc projects, or technology issues.
* Provide regular status reporting to stakeholders, including senior
IT management and PMO.

. Capture, track & escalate risks & issues to the senior management.

Job Specification - Part 2

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE (in order of importance)

Including: Education, technical knowledge (number of years),
company/industry experience, IT knowledge (levels required), languages etc.

* BS or equiv. in Computer Science, Business or Engineering, or a
directly related field
* Minimum 5 years of IT Business Analysis and Project Management
experience.
* Advanced level experience with MS Project, MS Word, PowerPoint,
Excel
* Experience of working in detail with Investment Banking products and
processes in the financial services industry.
* Experience with Front-Office sales considered a plus.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships with
members of the business and technology communities.
* Enforcing a process-oriented perspective on the overall project life
cycle workflow.
* Experience in writing detailed specifications and strong writing
skills.
* Proven business analyst abilities at a senior level
* Experience of full IT development life cycle in Global projects in
Investment Banking
* Considerable business relationship management experience.
* Experience of change management of associated business processes
* Cross product/asset class knowledge of Global Markets Good time
management skills and ability to work on several projects simultaneously
* Knowledge of CRM and MI systems and processes, and other Sales
related systems/processes

IDEAL EXPERIENCE

* Experience in on-line query tools would be considered a plus.
* Familiarity with current systems and business processes
* Experience of MI related tools, at a technical level as well as
super-user
* Cross products experience, especially Rates, Credit and Equities
* An understanding of Sales and revenue calculation and reporting
* Detailed knowledge of one or more GM product/asset class
