Fix Connectivity – NYC – up to 125K plus bonus
The team is responsible for providing a global electronic trading service to "client" Global and European Equities clients. This service is offered to clients using the Financial Information Exchange protocol ( FIX ) which is the international standard for trading messages. The service offered includes Equities Single Stock, Program Trading, Allocations, IOIs, Algorithmic Stock Trading, Direct Market Access, Listed Options and other asset classes.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding client requirements and assessing any gaps in "client" capabilities, raising development demands as necessary.
- Responding to client questionnaires about the service "client" provide
- Coordinating with "client" global offices
- Platform configuration of the client test environment
- Co-ordination with software vendors and network providers.
- Execution of test scripts in conjunction with the client's IT staff
- Vendor/Client Certification
- Platform configuration of the production environment
- Production testing prior to go-live
- Publication of client information to the Front Office
- Managing the go-live process and co-ordination with dependant teams e.g. 2nd line support.
- Maintaining and creating the test scripts to ensure that we thoroughly test with clients and "client" trading applications.
- Process improvement e.g. the use of automated testing tools, procedures for service delivery.
The ideal candidate will be working with clients to go-live with "client's" electronic services. It involves understanding any specific requirements that they may have, configuring the infrastructure to support those requirements, running through a connectivity test plan, working with the business and assisting in the smooth running of the go-live process. New client request may also result in development if we currently do not support the functionality. The delivery of these enhancements requires varying degrees of Project Management, and typically require close liaison with other AD teams to deliver the end to end service.
OMS Certification - working with Order Management System vendors to incorporate "client's" electronic services into their product to provide an optimal experience for the end client. This typically focuses on Algorithmic Trading Services and Direct Market Access.
Production Support - day to day support of clients that have gone live with connectivity is essential to providing a quality service to our clients. The team provides 3rd line support for the service.
Essential Knowledge:
- Previous experience within an investment banking environment.
- Knowledge of the Front Office trading lifecycle
- Experience in dealing with internal/external customers
- Knowledge of the FIX protocol and practical implementation of it
- Good communications skills (verbal and written)
- Self-starter and willing to take ownership of tasks
- Business analysis skills
Desirable Skills:
- Good understanding of UNIX
- Basic Java programming
- Basic TCP networking, etc.
- Experience with automated test tools
- Have an open attitude towards sharing ideas and knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills
