Oracle DBA - (US-NY-New York)

Compensation: $90K - $100K / Year

Provide database administration support to sqlserver, oracle and DB2 instances.
Review and assess impact on requests for enhancements to applications from a data perspective.
Create and maintain Database Objects like Tables, Views, Materialized views, Indexes, Constraints, Sequence, Synonyms and Database Link.
Review database patches provided by vendors and implement, test and deploy them as needed.
Support development and enhancements to both logical & physical database models.
Review stored procedures and SQL queries developed by the development staff for performance & Provide appropriate guidance to fine-tune the objects.
Develop & maintain ERD diagrams, data dictionaries and metadata repositories using tools like ERWIN.
Developing and maintaining backup/recovery methods and disaster recovery procedures.
Oversee Lifecycle Management of database servers.
Plan, configure, Install and maintain Database monitoring tools.
Prepare and update capacity plans based on performance analysis and statistical data collection.
Keep current with technology, IT best practices and data warehousing trends in order to make appropriate development recommendations.
Understanding of how to translate business rules and data requirements into database designs is desired.
Experienced in installing & maintaining Data warehouse using both Relational and Dimensional Models
Comply with proper internal controls as necessary to conduct job functions and/or carry out responsibilities and/or administrative activities at Company.

Other Job Functions:

Database administration including fine-tuning and backup-restore.
Both Logical & Physical database design
Review and fine-tune SQL code
Review query plans to assess performance and fine-tune tables & queries as necessary.
Participate in solution data architecture and impact analysis
Monitor Production databases to ensure high-availability and performance that meets Business expectation.
Perform special projects and other duties as may be assigned.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Qualifications:

At least a 4 year college degree in computer science or related field.
At least 10 years of experience in working with various database engines including SQL Server & Oracle.
Strong database design concepts. Use of ERWIN required for modeling
Experience implementing Database clustering, mirroring and data replication
Experienced in installing and maintaining both relational and dimensional datawarehouse.
Working knowledge of Informatica tool & Cognos is a plus.
Knowledge of ACORD XML messages is a plus.
Experience working in P & C companies is desirable.

Our NYC-based customer  is seeking a skilled Senior Technical Business Analyst. This is a 6-month, Right-to-Hire type opportunity for the right candidate.
 
This role reports to the Solutions Architect in the Office of Business and Technology Integration (BTI) with our customer. The Senior Technical Business Analyst will be responsible for:
 
·         Developing and maintaining a detailed understanding of a Data Dictionary so that he/she can provide guidance and leadership in discussions surrounding potential impacts associated with new enhancements
·         Mastering the various components of the new application (Extract from a Legacy system, ETL using BizTalk or other similar ETL-type tool such as Ab Initio, etc., ingestion into SQL Server, browser-based User Interface)
