Position Responsibilities - Summary

This individual, as part of a Production Support team within the Enterprise
Technology Services will provide 24X7 production support for Oracle, Sybase
and SQL Server databases. The candidate must possess both technical depth
and breadth with experience in a multi-disciplinary production environment.

He/she should have a "can do" "hands on" orientation and be able to function
both independently and as a member of a team. The right candidate should
have extensive Production support, automation and monitoring experience with
strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication and decision-making
skills.

Responsibilities - Detailed:

· Perform 24X7 production support for Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server

· Take ownership of issues, collaborate with other teams on
remediation and manage them through completion

· Diagnose database performance anomalies

· Develop Database Capacity Planning & Trend Reporting

· Develop and execute High Availability and Disaster Recovery plans

· Manage and affect Replication changes using Oracle Advanced
Replication and Shareplex Replication

· Support Oracle and Sybase Databases on Solaris and Linux.

· Support SQL Server on WinTel platform

· Support Databases in a Veritas cluster

· Develop/Exercise Backup/Recovery procedures using RMAN

· Manage Incident Bridges

· Provide on-call support on a rotating basis

Keys to This Position:

1. We are seeking a Lead Production DBA with Oracle, SQL Server and Sybase.
Our environment is largely Oracle (approx. 90%) so Oracle is the key.

2. Technical Requirements: Oracle 11g, Oracle RAC, RMAN, Unix Systems
Administration, and experience supporting distributed/global databases.

3. Technical Leadership: This is a 11 person team (3 onshore/8 offshore)
and this individual will act as a lead/mentor to others on the team.

4. On call component: this individual we be in an on call rotation with 4
others. There is a follow the Sun Model so the individual will only need to
respond when issues get escalated.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· 7+ years experience as a Senior Database Administrator supporting
enterprise class Oracle database environments. Experience in the following
disciplines:

· Oracle 11G

· Oracle RAC

· Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.4 on Solaris 10

· PL/ SQL performance tuning

· Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas File system

· Proven record of providing 24X7 on-call support in a dynamic
multi-application environment

· Database internals -- query processing, indexing, access methods,
caching, transaction processing, replication, backup/restore, & storage

· Replication technologies

· Storage Technologies

· Oracle Data Guard

· OEM 10g

· Solaris 10 and M9000 experience

· Linux on x86

· Oracle ASM

· Experience with EMC storage

· UNIX Systems administration experience

· RMAN experience

· Oracle advanced features :

o Partition maintenance

o EXTPROC listeners

o MQ Gateways

o Advance Queues

· Product support for database deployment of upgrades and patch
releases

· Experience supporting distributed / global databases in a
multi-server/multi-location environment

· Experience designing and implementing High Availability and

Position Summary:

· Active Directory (reporting and modification of objects)

· Printer support (maintenance, jams, and toner)
