Position Responsibilities – Summary
An IT Project Manager II manages and oversees multiple concurrent small
projects or a single large project. In addition to having responsibility for
all aspects of the project over the entire project life (initiate, plan,
execute, control, close), assembling project team, assigning individual
responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing
schedules to ensure timely and high quality completion of assigned projects,
takes projects from original concept through final implementation, interacts
with all areas across the organization as well as external vendors involved
in or impacted by the project. Ensures adherence to quality standards and
reviews project deliverables, communicates with all levels of management
regarding the status of specific projects.
Those reporting to an IT Project Manager II functionally will be a
combination of individual contributors and managers. They manage effective
working relationships with other departments, groups and employees as
required, and are a strong representative of IT in this capacity. They work
with minimal supervision from their direct manager. They have demonstrated
strong and effective analytical and decision making abilities but will
involve their direct manager as appropriate when they face a major decision.
An IT Project Manager II demonstrates the ability and success in bringing
the value of IT to solve business issues while managing all aspects of a
project (scope, schedule, costs, resources and risk).
Required Skills and Competencies:
· To be considered as a candidate for an IT Project Manager II
position, this professional must have demonstrated effective project
management, leadership and relationship management skills, and have either
proven to be technically proficient in one or more IT disciplines, or have
relevant business experience or knowledge combined with a strong technical
acumen.
· 5+ years of Project Management experience – PMI/PMP Required.
· Experience with Stone River Insurance System Implementations
Preferred.
· Experience with Personal Lines from the Property & Casualty
Insurance Industry Preferred.
· Candidate must exhibit strong communication skills - both orally
and written.
· Demonstrated & successful project implementations - within scope,
schedule and budget.
· Bachelors Degree.
