Judith,
It sounds like she did you a huge favor by not wasting any more of your time and have you come in. Why would you want to work for a company who allows incompetent people screen their most important asset? They probably have a candidate already and just interview you to say they phone interviewed X number of people. Don't waste your precious time pursuing a company that isnt professional or trying to figure out why people do what they do. Good luck and keep up the good search!

I just had the worst phone interview. Someone should publish tips on how to conduct a phone interview.

This woman called at the appointed time and didn't introduce herself. The only way I knew who it was, was by reading my caller ID. She began to talk a mile a minute, without even giving me a chance to respond to some of her statements. I think she was nervous and ill prepared to interview me. When I did have a chance to speak, she pretty much ignored what I had to say. She also had not read my resume too carefully.

At some point she must have felt I was not right for the position, because she told me the job is monotonous. She also prematurely told me about the perks the company has to offer and waited for me to ooh and aah over each one. Instead of being forthright and stating that I was not a good fit, she ended the phone conversation by saying they would make a decision by the end of the month, without even suggesting meeting for a face-to-face interview. Then she added, that if I had any additional questions, I should call her. Strange, huh?

strong consumer products company is looking for a Sr. Financial
Analyst. This individual will be responsible for consolidating
the Company`s global financial results, assisting with internal
and external financial reporting, recording all transactions and
working on other corporate projects, including but not limited to
financial reporting, planning, and analysis. Responsibilities:
Partner w/ Sales/Marketing/Commercial teams in order to deliver
financial commitments and drive profitable growth. Key
Accountabilities ` Key finance liaison Sales / Marketing teams `
Develop business processes and tools to provide accurate,
consistent and timely reporting and analysis of business results.
Includes data management, development/execution of management
reporting tools. ` Responsible for budgeting and forecasting of
all elements of contribution margin. Partner with
Sales/Marketing teams(s) to develop plans and to reconcile those
plans to the overall financial targets. ` Track and communicate
financial performance including risks and opportunities vs. plan.
` Participate in cross-functional business reviews. ` Support
evaluation of new business opportunities and risks through
scenario modeling and other financial analysis. Customer Demand
Key Finance contact for Sales/Marketing/Commercial teams. Work
closely w/ other cross-functional teams to understand all
components of profitability and to feed company planning and
reporting processes. Role Requirements Experience ` MUST
have: CPA and TRADITIONAL ACCOUNTING Experience ` BBA in
accounting or finance ` MBA preferred ` At least 5 years of
progressive experience in financial planning and analysis `
Wine/spirits and/or CONSUMER PRODUCTS experience is a Must.
Skills/Knowledge ` Strong working knowledge of Hyperion is
preferred ` Technical and financial knowledge in addition to
strong analytical skills, specifically in the areas of:
compiling, analyzing and reporting data in a format that
management can easily use for decision making. ` Demonstrated
ability to set objectives and priorities and follow through on
commitments. ` Agility ` Ability to manage multiple priorities

TITLE: CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER
COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Purchase, N.Y. based Distribution Company seeks a "hands-on" Chief Information
Officer to be an integral member of the management team. Qualified candidates
should have recent and proficient experience in Ecommerce, and EDI expertise in a
large company a multi -location environment. In addition, the candidate should be
a service oriented professional, comfortable working in a team environment, have
excellent communication and presentation skills, and be highly motivated. This
highly visible position reports directly to Chief Financial and Administrative
Officer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Will act as the organization's lead in executing a strategic corporate
information and technology management plan

• Establish standards and procedures for all phases of IT management

• Develop solutions to complex problems and make proposals for improvement
of systems

• Design a corporate IT strategy and guide the direction of projects to
make sure they are in line with organizational business goals and objectives

• Maintain and develop all current systems so they are functioning at the
highest level

• Responsible for the development and monitoring of information technology
operating and capital budgets

• Coordinate and control all projects related to selection, acquisition,
development and installation of major information and technology systems

• Review IT contracts and ensure they are being awarded fairly and properly

• Ascertain proper management and completion of multiple projects and
ensure they are delivered within budget and time deadlines

• Manage a 20-person department. Provide leadership and oversee support

JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

* Qualified candidate should have 15+ years of experience including exposure to a
major ERPsystem, as well as Ecommerce and EDI experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent in Information
Technology background in a related discipline required.

• Experience working in a 100+ employee multi- division or multi-company
environment

• Responsible for managing infrastructure, programmers, Ecommerce, EDI and
business intelligence teams

• Large private company experience preferred.

* Proficiency in Disaster Recovery Planning, Ecommerce and EDI in a multi-site
environment
* Analyze and resolve complex issues
* Ability to match information and technology solutions with business needs
* Strong project management experience
