JOB POSITION TITLE: Director of Conference and Event Services

Full Time

JOB DUTIES: Manage and supervise the overall conference and event services
office. Effectively market the University's services and facilities for outside
groups to use for workshops, meetings, conferences, etc. Perform contract
negotiation and execution. Provide assistance to groups in identifying
programmatic needs including facilities and services. Have fiscal accountability
for expected revenue production. Arrange all necessary services for events
including food, media, police, etc. Generate new revenue and maintain current
client base. Operate a summer camp and conference schedule involving external
clients. Identify new business opportunities for external clients to fully
utilize the available time and space in the Multi-purpose Activity Center (MAC).
Assist the Vice President for Student and Community Services to ensure that
University facilities are fully utilized when classes are not in session. Other
duties as assigned. Work with on-campus groups to provide assistance in program
or event planning. Represent the University as a member of appropriate local
community groups. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business,
Communications, or Hotel/Restaurant Management. Three years of experience in a
similar office setting, planning and managing conferences, workshops, housing
management and operations, program planning and event execution, training and
development, community relations, etc.

Ability to communicate and relate with off-campus individuals and on-campus
personnel, both in writing and speaking. Strong entrepreneurial skills and
management skills. Must be able to effectively handle multiple tasks and public
and community relations. Strong negotiation skills.

Intermediate knowledge of MS Word 2007. Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 2007.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
