Subject: More information on the "Staying Ahead of the Threat Landscape"
half-day seminar
To: "lutzpf@gmail.com" <lutzpf@gmail.com>

Hi Peter,

As I mentioned on the phone "Staying Ahead of the Threat Landscape: Budget
Smart Tactics to Strengthen Your Security Posture" will be held on Thursday,
December 2, 2010 at the Hilton Garden Inn Center City from 8:00 am until
1:30 pm. You'll have the opportunity to hear from security guru, G. Mark
Hardy, president of National Security.

I want you to know about all the benefits of this complimentary seminar now,
because we are limiting attendance to the first 60 IT security pros who
apply. This allows for a concentrated albeit relaxed learning environment
with optimum peer-networking opportunities. Here's the URL for our seminar's
website which contains complete seminar info and the chance for you to
register before all the seats are. (We don't allow onsite registration so
the need to apply in advance is essential)
http://events.techtarget.com/secdefense/index.html?Offer=BDoherty

Attend and return to the office with the knowledge of how to:

-- Interpret the latest threats and their implications and create an
effective defense-in-depth strategy
-- Secure remote access and your increasingly mobile workforce
-- Cost-effectively protect your data while preparing for statewide data
protection laws
-- Identify the top security change drivers of 2011 and discover what
actions you must take now to stay ahead of the curve
-- Effectively communicate the threat and business impact to executive
management to gain buy in around the projects needed to keep your
organization safe
-- And much more!

****Important note regarding this seminar****
This seminar is part of a two-track half day event focusing on the emerging
role of Unified Communications in business, how to secure these new
technologies and your organization's overall security through 2011 and
beyond. This seminar comprises the security track which will run
simultaneously with the Unified Communications track. G. Mark Hardy will be
headlining the security track; however, attendees are welcome to attend
whichever tracks they find most beneficial.

We also encourage you to forward this invite on to any colleagues you feel
may benefit from this unique event featuring independent expert content
around Unified Communications and information security.

**** Absolutely can't make the date? ****
Do a friend a favor and forward this to a colleague who can. As with all
attendees, they simply need to apply in advance before seats are filled and
registration closes without further notice. Sorry, we can't accommodate any
walk-in registrations, hence the sense of urgency to this email.

Fwd: Recruiters Don't Ask Job Seekers to Pay

Recruiters Don't Ask Job Seekers to
Pay<http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/ResumeWritingServices/~3/-4HfFHpbC60/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email>

Posted: 16 Nov 2010 07:30 AM PST

There is one piece of information you need to remember in your job
search; *recruiters
don't ask job seekers to pay a fee*. Their client is the company that is in
need of filling a position and the recruiter is compensated for seeking out
a suitable candidate. Legitimate "recruiting organizations" will NEVER ask a
job seeker for money and will NEVER guarantee a job seeker a position
because they are retained by a potential employer. Often job seekers will be
heard complaining about recruiters who do not follow up with them but they
are not compensated by the job seeker.

All too often we are hearing of job seekers spending thousands of dollars
taken in by scams which promise them a job and almost all have reported that
they were under the impression that it was a recruiting company. It should
now be fully understood that this was not the case. It is unfortunate that
during a time when finances are limited we see victims paying out thousands
of dollars coerced by false promises of landing a dream job that is never
realized. Even those who didn't hand over the money have invested their time
to travel and interview and then, as requested, to return with their spouse
to interview again before realizing that this was not part of your everyday
job search.

That said, there are many qualified and reputable organizations that can
assist you in your job search and provide a professional and valuable
service in all aspects of your executive career. It is much easier than you
think to recognize the difference; just ask! You should have a network of
professionals on Linkedin <http://linkedin.com> and various groups that are
available to verify an organization. There are also many online forums to
submit questions about a company. Be sure to check in with friends, family
and colleagues too in order to obtain valuable advice, recommendations and
referrals.

An organization with a disreputable history may resort to changing their
company name in an effort to hide from negative feedback. If the canned
email spiel you're receiving shows an inconsistency with company names and
company website names, it is likely a scam. Legitimate companies are proud
of the reputation they have built with the ONE name used since the date they
were established.

Always be sure to search online to verify any organization, especially one
you intend to hire! Check out the links such as
ripoff.com<http://www.ripoffreport.com/employment-services/wateman-partners-int/waterman-partners-internationa-bwf56.htm>and
the
redflagdeals<http://forums.redflagdeals.com/anyone-heard-toronto-profesional-executive-marketing-firm-840854/>
forum.
Or Google <http://google.com> the name and beside the name include the word,
*scam*. You will be amazed at the results and how much information others
have been sharing in order to help you avoid being scammed.
