My client a leader in Advertising Software is looking for a Technical Writer to join their technical team.  If you are looking for a company that provides an amazing work life balance this is the place for you. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide user documentation (e.g., online help, user's guides, reference manuals) to accompany software to agreed deadlines. This involves identifying needs for documentation, information analysis, content design, and clear, effective writing.
  • Work to technical publications standards and style guidelines and ensure compliance with corporate quality and information security requirements.
  • Develop (and share where appropriate) knowledge of software, tools used for the job, and clients' business processes. Effective technical documentation depends on this knowledge.
  • Support other technical writers as peer editor and proofreader.
  • Manage documentation projects and libraries, switching focus between projects as required to manage priorities.
  • Participate in developing the stylesheet and document format standards.
  • Keep up to date on technical publications standards and trends, as well as business objectives and trends in the advertising industry.
  • Develop effective communication skills and play a constructive role at meetings.
  • Contribute to the usability, consistency, and effectiveness of user interfaces. This includes providing language for error messages and UI elements according to UI guidelines.

Required Skills:

·         A bachelor's degree, preferably in English or a related field
·         At least 3 years of professional technical writing experience that includes developing at least one start-to-finish software user's guide
  • Ability to learn complex software systems quickly and write clear, concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • A self-starter with excellent organizational skills who can gracefully manage and prioritize multiple projects and produce quality deliverables on time, all with minimal supervision
  • Ability to follow and help maintain corporate style and editorial guidelines
  • Excellent verbal communicator and collaborator who can work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience with help authoring systems and content management, especially familiarity with FrameMaker, ePublisher, Alfresco, and DITA
  • Comfort with HTML for creating browser-based content
  • Knowledge of digital advertising platforms a big plus
  • Experience working in an agile environment and documenting APIs also pluses
