Job Description:

Key Accountabilities/Activities:
Design and build database structure and objects that best support operational and analytics application
Assess and analyze data requirements for applications and/or problems
Translate data requirements into database structures for optimal performance and availability
Implement, test and debug physical database objects for performance and troubleshooting
Design and implement optimal star and snowflake schema in the database
Communicate and collaborate with team members and management on the designed database structures and schemas
Write and present eloquently with the appropriate audience perspective in mind
Support troubleshooting of production issues of existing application as warranted
Participate in collaborative discussions with team members to monitor progress against enhancement queue and bug resolution.
Stay proactive in identifying potential risks/issues due to the overall application design and make recommendations for improvements
Design and implement highly available and scalable architecture for database environment and its required SLAs
Develop and implement strategies for data partitioning to support applications’ scalability and availability needs
Develop and implement strategies for data federation, replication and virtualization
Develop and implement strategies for data archival and recovery (for both primary and remote sites)
Ensure alignment of objects design with  the enterprise defined data governance and architecture principles
Support the specification and construction of the designed objects to completed solution
Research and select appropriate database technology and tools for effective management and troubleshooting
Define and develop reusable database strategies to be leveraged across enterprise database management systems
Continue to expand the knowledge and specialization in the evolving database technology and architecture
 Position Requirements:

Working knowledge of warehouse Oracle functions (e.g. Roullup etc.), Star Schema design using Bitmap indexes is a must
Operating Systems- AIX, Solaris, RedHat Linux
Data Virtualization/Federation technology â€" preferably MetaMatrix
10+ years experience as a Oracle Database Architect/Administrator in a Global Enterprise â€" preferably in financial industry and 3+ years experience in a team lead role
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) credentials
Good understanding of design principles of master data management, operational stores, data marts, data warehouse system.

CONTROLLER - THE GENERAL THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY (GTS) OF THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the Seminary, to include the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the Seminary's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP. A candidate must have significant leadership experience restructuring an accounting operation as the Controller. Preference will be given to experience with CAMS and Accpac systems. The ideal candidate will also have knowledge about the Seminary's mission statement: "To form leaders for the Church in a changing world."

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Records:
• Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Establish, enforce and document appropriate checks and balances within the business office.
• Manage the collecting, recording and processing of all transactions within the functions of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tuition billing/reimbursement, general ledger and fixed assets.
• Manage the entry of accounting information from an outsourced, subsidiary operation.
• Manage the preparation of financial statements, including reports to the Board of Trustees, banks, accrediting organizations and grantors.
• Manage the business office to produce flawless audits.
• Initiate constructive dialogues with the Dean's Office, the Development Office, students and faculty in order to improve the service provided to these departments.

Cash Management:
• Create weekly cash flow forecasting and updating process to report on cash flow.
• Manage cash flow to fund operating needs.

Investment Committee:
• Provide reporting and analysis to the Investment Committee at its direction.
• Post accurately and currently the Pooling Schedule to track the endowments.

Budget:
• Working with the CFO coordinate the annual budget process including conducting monthly budget reviews by department, preparing rolling 12 month forecasts and analysis.
• Counsel and recommend appropriate action when material variances occur

Audit:
• Working with the CFO and the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees, schedule an annual independent audit.
• Manage the process of the audit, prepare supporting schedules, answer questions and provide assistance to the auditing firm.
• Under the direction of the Audit Committee of the Board of Trustees and the CFO implement the recommendations as suggested in the management letter.

External Reporting:
• Prepare and manage the reporting to accrediting organizations, the OMB and the tax reporting and filing requirements for all state and federal agencies.

The Database Manager at will be primarily responsible for supporting our mission
critical applications for on-air broadcast. He or she will also be responsible
for upgrades, administration, support and maintenance of the SQL databases
supporting back office applications (sales, traffic, financial analytics, and IT
monitoring tools among them). A key responsibility will be architecting,
building, and developing methods for staff and graphics to consume and display
up-to-the-minute Data.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

* Design, build and implement:
* New applications based on business initiatives that drive our on-air
broadcast.

* MSSQL Data Warehouse for Stat Consumption for multiple internal consumers
* Indexed views, stored procedures, triggers, replication scheme, MDX, DSQL,
and T-SQL queries facilitating l data consumption

* Microsoft SQL Databases (2005, 2008, 2008 R2) on multi-node cluster,
supporting television production and back-office applications

* API sets to facilitate baseball data consumption by third party systems

* Support:
* Provide 24x7x365 support for, and hold full knowledge of our mission critical
applications.

* Database and server security administration (DTS/SSIS knowledge is
essential).

* On call Blackberry rotation support approximately every 7 weeks; this is
weekend and overnight support.

* Be able to work with HelpStarand Footprints helpdesk ticket software.
* Ensure database health and business continuity practices are met:
* Keep SQL environment current with Windows/SQL patches and updates.
* Backup and Recovery scenarios are met (SnapManagerfor SQL, Backup Exec)
* Maintain SLA with business partners
* Troubleshoot and correct any performance, hardware or application issues.

* Maintain detailed documentation:
* Maintenance plans and schedules
* Run books
* Detailed test plans
* Architecture and Data definition documents.

* Tune databases for performance
* Create and run automated jobs to validate baseball data on a daily basis.
* Continually optimize stored procedures and queries for faster response time
* Continually review and correct indexing, load balancing, and replication
strategies as appropriate

Skills and Attributes

1. Experience administering a MS SQL environment, including multi-node
clusters, data warehouses with stringent replication requirements, and failure
mode systems (backups & restores).

2. Ability to learn vendor applications and understand the business need
driving changes or report generation.

3. Working knowledge of SQL code review, database auditing, ERP and Microsoft
SQL clustering.

4. Performance and fine tuning management to ensure non-disruptive
administration tactics.

5. Experience designing, installing, configuring and supporting MSSQL Server
databases

6. SQL Coding and Developing skills; knowledge DSQL, TSQL, MDX, Stored
Procedures, and Indexed views.

7. Experience using SSIS, SSAS, Data Cubes (real time ROLAP), and DTS
8. Strong knowledge of network and server troubleshooting
9. Willingness to learn new technologies and embrace change management
procedures.

10. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within time and budget
constraints. Project Management experience will be helpful

11. Broadcast media experience is a plus
12. Knowledge of rules and common statistics used to analyze baseball
13. Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are essential.
14. Demonstrated ability to enhance team performance by bringing SQL expertise
and best practices to the group.

15. Flexibility to support systems during ?off hours? as the business dictates.

16. Desire to grow in SQL knowledge as well as that of other disciplines.
17. Strong documentation and diagram skills
18. Familiarity with SQL server enterprise manager
19. Working knowledge of Visio and server/network diagramming.

Experience Requirement

The position requires a Bachelor?s degree in Information Technology or
equivalent experience, and a minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on MSSQL experience.
Candidate must have data warehousing, SQL Server Analysis Services (cube design)
and data modeling/architecting experience. The candidate must have a strong
knowledge of on-line analytical processing (OLAP) to provide for
multi-dimensional analytical queries. Previous experience with a TV broadcast
environment a plus. A candidate with knowledge of, or who has worked with
baseball data is greatly preferred. The candidate should have or be pursuing
MCSA or MCSE certification.
